Why do you say that? Just more things to break on ya in the future.Them air compresser ones are the ones to get though!

DIY with a HF press and hot plates seems simple enough to me for anyone wanting to press on a larger scale for cheap.
Surely seems like money well spent vs what you would get for 4X that amount you spent on your rig. It's what I bought. And I'll be doing A LOT of presses every 9 weeks, plus I have 2 more accounts I just picked up
What is the best teznique to making it yourself without investing in a big ol press?Wow! Beautiful!!!
I don't mind the noise of a compressor, I own a body shop + would probably do the pressing there anyway.Them air compresser ones are the ones to get though!
I've owned my compressor for 12 years and it's still going strong...much bigger than 150 psi thoWhy do you say that? Just more things to break on ya in the future.
Just how are your plates made? Where's you get the press and what mods did you do to it, and how'd you build the frame?Sure thing!

Everything was made with parts from Amazon, metal from a supply house, and a Harbor Freight drill press ($60).Just how are your plates made? Where's you get the press and what mods did you do to it, and how'd you build the frame?
So you're using peltiers?Everything was made with parts from Amazon, metal from a supply house, and a Harbor Freight drill press ($60).
Plates are 3"x1" circles. Heaters are 8mm by 60mm , 120watts (2 per plate). 1 K-type thermocouple per plate. The computers (PIDs) are MyPin TA4-RNR which have build in mechanical relays, no external SSR to deal with (I don't mind the click on/off). Electronics are wired just like an Enail, you can actually use a "DIY Enail Wiring" guide.
I used wood between my platens and frame for thermal insulation and it works awesome! I can leave my press on over 24hrs and the frame does not heat up.
The frame was build by me on the fly with a half-vision in my head. It quickly evolved into what you see. It's all powered by a 12T bottle jack from Harbor freight.
Total cost (excluding drill press) ~$180
Total Weight - 35Lbs .
No, just chunks of metal that I drilled holes into, then inserted cartridge heaters. Each heater is 120watts and measures 8mm x 60mm .So you're using peltiers?
Industrial Metal Supply is the store I bought the chunks of round stock from, them I drilled/bored holes into them with a drillpress for the heaters and thermocouples to slide into.Where do I get the plates/dies? I can get a hf press with a 20% off for less than $100. Need some blocks to press into. My goal was to press some blonde kief into thin hash bars with rosin as the residual.
