95% hairs red at 6 weeks flower?

I have an indica dominant strain, and at 42 days all her hairs are brown. and i mean like 95%. i just noticed this yesterday. i don't think she's ready yet though, i haven't really seen a "fattening" on the buds like i have on past plants. though she is quite thick with bud. her trikes though are white and i don't see an amber to them at all, still waiting on a pocket microscope to arrive, so i can take a closer look though.

so what, she has a week or two to go? what's the thinking here? is this common?

i kind of want to go for more amber trichs. not sure if that actually works or its a myth but i'd like a more narcotic effect. any advice on that?

Well I don't use the trichome method to tell me when its done mate as I think its outdated. So I can't give ya advice on that. But what I do know is you shouldn't let that plant run to long or you won't be getting much of a high at all.

If I were you I would wait for the scope to show up. Look at the triches, the more amber you see the more of a couch lock effect you will get. As for what too look for and what percentages...do some searching get some opinions and make your own choices. Personally, I like to go about 15-25% amber because I am into a more 'heady' creative sativa kind of buzz. But for more of the 'eat chips and play video games' I would go around 75% amber. Again, that is just what I go by...not necessarily what anyone else should.

One thing for sure...do not take anyone's advice and just run with it...especially based on a picture. It is your plant, your grow, and your decision.

Hair color doesn't mean a thing but since we're talking about it I prefer brunets. I have lots of strains that "finish" with the "hair" still white and some that dry up and turn brown with several weeks to go. Trichomes are not a myth and the only true way to see where you are at . The amber trichomes make you sit and eat and play with your belly button in my opinion Lmfao! Too blobbed out of a feeling for me. I see a single amber trichome and providing that most all other trichomes are milky I will cut her down no questions. That's just my preference. Good luck

this is kind of along the lines of what i was thinking. it must be strain related because it doesn't look ready to me, it's been a while but from what i remember i should be coming into the fattening up stage pretty soon here, that hasn't happened yet

Because all the THC has become over ripe turned amber and converted to CBN
"CBN represents a loss of 90% potency (from THC).

CBN is not desirable in any harvest, since it not only represents a huge loss of potency but research into the substance has also shown that CBN does not produce a high like THC does, CBN produces a more sickly feeling not a true high.
