I got into a Discussion here at roll it up about weather or not Blue Dream is a clone only strain.Well like I said its not clone only and people that believe it is don't know Jack.As I said before Blue Dream Seed are attainable out of northern cali My caregiver has 14 seedlings and I have two.Will have picks later today.

true blue dream is clone only. your seeds are going to exhibit phenotypical variation (each will be slightly different).

What if they are F1 seeds?

Those would be stable, right?

If it is clone only, and you crossed two clones, you would be making F1 seeds that should be the same, no?
Same mom + same dad = same plant as a baby

Stability at that early of a juncture would be by pure luck alone. The number of traits that have to come together, both dominant and recessive, to make the really wicked phenos are very difficult to concentrate in the plant enough to make it breed true. Just because one F1 displays the trait, doesn't mean that others from the same batch will. This is not to say it won't happen at all, just that it is not likely. Some of the phenos, like I said in a different thread, are as rare as a winning powerball ticket.

I figure clone only would be the same if not better than seedlings, same pheno, sex, shorter grow time. For something to be dubbed other than 'clone only' it really needs to be readily available in seed form online, if you have to go to a caregiver or clinic to get the living thing it doesn't count, as is my understanding

You can self a clone only all day. To get an exact hardly ever happens. They hardly evwr turn out better....they sometimes herm the fuk out. And without knowing what the exact arents were...they often times turn out subpar at best. This is my experience. I dont mess with professionally done selfed clone only seeds.

take a look at hso's seed version of blue dream, then look at the clone only blue dream, nothing a like that i've seen.. the clone only exhibits a double serated leaf which is super thin while the seed version is more on the indica side of things with much wider leaves and does not have the double serated leaves of the clone only version..
many breeder's offer their version of a clone only, but that's all it is, a breeder's version of a clone only.. sometimes they're pretty close to the real deal, other times they're only similar in name..

THIS ^^^^^. I have both the HSO Blue Dream and the Santa Cruz cut. They are light years apart. From leaf appearance to plant structure to bud development. Taste and smell are different too. The HSO is good though. Damn good. If it wasnt i would of chucked her ass awhile ago. But the seed versions from breeders....from what i have grown and friend growers have ran....is nothing like Santa Cruz cut. To be honest...i dont know if the SC cut is what everyone raved about back in the day as being the real. But what i got between HSO and Santa Cruz...nothing alike. HSO is much more indica. The SC cut is the most Sativa looking plant in my stable (currently 9 strains). You can see the old school Haze in her...plain as day

I miss the cut I had. Vigorous, heavy yielder, early finisher. Odd that she finished so quick, because the haze scent was so prominent, blueberry was a faint undertone. No BD clone before, or after, has come close. The last one I had was a sad "knock off".

I did notice today that the scent I get from La Plata's Cherry LimexLemon Alien (stem, not buds) is so similar to my BD, it got me reminiscing.

I use the term "knockoff" neither in a good or bad way....just simply what it is. Some of the best gear ive ever ran were knockoffs based on the clone only. Also ran crap basement bunk that was knockoff of a popular named variety.

sc cut is the clone from my understanding and it lives up to the name. it's hard to believe the hso crew(there's quite a few well known guys involved) would use this name....it's a marketing thing, i know, but turns me off to any of their offerings. BLUE DREAM IS CLONE ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had a friend that back crossed the Santa Cruz cut to a DJ Blueberry male, named it MAMU after the Dead song Me and My Uncle. Folks have gotten several keepers outta the seeds

Better get used to it. All of em do it. Confuses the fuk outta me. Cali Connection did that shit awhile back. I got friends that been running 8 different phenos of Tahoe and still dont knkw what they got. Watch and see....in about 5 years people will be calling Gorilla Glue #4 some short bushy Afghan. Lol.

ive seen it hundred times over....if you dont try your damndest to acquire an up and coming cut soon as you hear about it....yer chances of getting the real narrows bigtime.

Most of us will never know true headband....true tahoe...true chemdog....the real deal cuts. You can thank goofy seedmakers trying to cash in for that. Ive already been hearing people say lately "oh...you got The Glue?....seed or clone?".....smh
