WELL WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT THAI STICK???

I CAN ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS AS I INVENTED THE STICK BACK IN 1969......THE ORIGINAL STICK WAS A FOOT LONG AND ABOUT 2 OUNCES..THE WAY THE USED IT THEMSELVES SO I HAD THEM MAKE THE 2 OZ BUNDLES OF 20...

A BIT OF A MISNOMER AS THE BUDS CAME FROM LAOS IN THE AREA AROUND LUANG PRABANG WHERE THE ORIGINAL PHENOTYPE WAS FROM

IT WAS SUCH AMAZING WEED FOR A COUPLE OF REASONS..VERY HI THC AND GROWN AT HI ALTITUDE..ORGANICALLY OF COURSE...MINE WAS GROWMN BY THE POLICE CHIEFS PARENTS HAHAHAHAH

THIS WAS THE FIRST COUPLE OF YEARS UNTILL THE WAR SHUT DOWN ACCESS INTO LAOS..IF YOU GOT ANY FROM THOSE YEARS YOU WILL NEVER FORGET IT..

THE NEXT FEW YEARS THE BUD CAME FROM NORTHERN THAILAND AND THE QUALITY DROPPED...THE US MANAGED TO SHUT DOWN EXPORT FROM BANGOK AND THE STUFF WAS REROUTED THRU VIETNAM AND THE QUALITY DROPPED AGAIN//

I HAVE A FARMER IN LAOS THAT HAS THE ORIGINAL SEED AND I WILL BE PRESENTING TO THE MARKET IN THE FUTURE

HAZE IS A THAI DOMINANT STRAIN....

BUT LAOTIAN WEED IS THE BEST THEY HAVE BEEN DOING IT FOR VERY LONG AND LOVE IT THEMSELFS..WONDERFULL PEOPLE..

yes some amazing crosses now..but the landrace strains are special and this one grown in the mountains at 5000ft is unbelievable....a lot of what you think are landrace strains are not as so many people ave taken seeds to these areas and crossing has occurred..

Ha...No one has gotten it right in this entire thread.

No doubt there was some nice landrace weed strains coming out of that area at the time...but, The Real Thai sticks were opiated. That's why there are so many "happy" memories of them. :) And that's why people say they were the strongest weed they ever had...

I got my Thai sticks direct from a guy who was in the Peace Corps back in 1974-sh. He bought them and then bought a pair of pink, ceramic cat statues that had hollow interiors....filled them up and sealed the bottoms...brought back on a transport plane.

They were about 6-8 inches long, wrapped around a piece of bamboo and tied with a strand of bamboo fiber...dipped into the "first water" in the opium making process and then dried/cured.

One hit....

Today, I've seen every kind of Three Stooges looking facsimiles of Thai stick- covered in hash oil, wrapped with a red string, etc. None of it will ever even get close....because it really isn't weed we are talking about...It's not a weed type of high....It's an opium high.

hahaha i am sure that is true for the armed forces guys as herion was the main thing for them...
i am absolutley positive that is not true for the bulk of the weed from that region unless you were dealing with disreputable people.

my friends were locals and abhorred opium and the US Forces as well..but that is another story completely..

i was present for all the process for the product i brought from there and it was just weed that was exponentially stronger than anything at that time unless you had access to hawaiin or some of the beautiful sensies out of mexico and even some good shit from columbia..but the Masses rarely saw the good stuff..

yes everyone has tried to copy..good luck...cannot .... strain and region specific...
you may see the real thing again as i have a farm there and am just waiting permission to import to Canada ..so maybe next year...... come on up and try..hahaha way our government moves 2 years....

my main goal in life today ...... is to bring in tons and tons hahahahah

also 1974 was to late for the good strains as access to Laos went down 72 i think....weed to strong poor time memory

same story with Temple Balls in the same day.....stupid idea as opium was far more expensive so why would they do that???....i know for sure this is bullshit to....

so many stories but we were there....and call bullshit on some.......

All due respect...that is a bullshit story. You sound like a guy with a business plan to sell some seeds. I don't believe anything you say.

Thai sticks were opiated as I have described. I don't care if you or anyone else disputes the information or not. I'm not going to get into an argument over it because I've been through all this with others, like you who want to tell some other stories. Believe what you want. Have a nice day. :)

ALL weed in those days was comparatively poor quality -in that it wasn't trimmed well -leaves, stems, seeds abounded.

I can't tell you HOW Thai sticks came to be...can't even tell you if they were the result of a demand for "poppy-based" products of that day or not...All I know, for SURE, is that real Thai sticks were opiated. And this is born out through the stories of Vietnam era veterans and others connected to the SE Asian campaign. As I understand it, there was a LOT of drug-manufacturing going on all over SE Asia in those days...and transport planes connected to the armed services (and in the case of my friend...the Peace Corps) was how the stuff made it over here.

Thai sticks were differentiated from loose weed -by the fact they were wrapped around sticks and dipped in first water and hung to dry/cure. That's why they were wrapped around sticks. Why would there be a need to process regular weed that way? Ask yourself that. That's how people identified/differentiated them. They were a remnant of the opium making process and they became another commodity to sell as a result of it. It was a very very smart idea because it increased the price brought in by the weed...and was also a way to utilize the otherwise unused first water which would get thrown out. The result was a smoke that would put you into another world of blissful relaxation like you've never imagined! THIS, I know for sure! :) The first time I smoke a hit of Thai stick, I was 15 years old and was sitting in a chair in my brother's house listening to The Grateful Dead. One hit and I literally sunk into the chair and was engulfed in it like a warm glove....nothing but bliss...and nothing like any weed high could ever produce. The high was so profoundly different and so much stronger...that's why real Thai sticks are legendary. Trust me. I'm not trying to sell anyone anything.

i've heard they threw the opium wash on it, hence the white powder, which had very, very little opium in it. i read a few stories from some aussies that i believe more then others. it was 1 organization they say, thats why it came to an abrupt holt when they were busted. although you can still get sticks with red string over there, but it's not even close to the old sticks. there is def. pot as strong as the sticks were, just very hard to access.

Actually, first water is tea-colored -not white and powdery. Raw opium is black/brown and sticky. When it dries, it has a sick, sweet smell and people who know that smell know what I'm talking about. It's a smell like no other.
