is this compost safe to use?

ahh.. I see..
flushed or leached?
remember that contrary to popular thought, usually when a plant is pissed it typically doesn't have anything to do with a deficiency of any kind.
so that's reaaaally a common mistake for newer growers
what do you mean by leached? Well after given them a shot of 20-20-20, they seem to be slowing down their yellowing rate. I'll probably give them a little more in a few days. The sativa plant has foxtailed now though

Also..god damn at 5am this morning my breaker suddenly made a sound out of hell and was spitting sparks, then it caught on fire! so About an hour before usual wake up time, i was down there messing around with the flashlight and the closet is not totally light proof, but that room usually is, so i haven't worried about it. So now there must have been some light leaks here and there as the flash light waved around the room, and I also had to take them outside 15 minutes earlier than usual because the electrician was on his way. how big of a hermie risk am i looking at here? one plant had already hermied a little early on, though i never saw bananas

Jesus Christ man you can smoke weed with seeds, you can't smoke shit if you burn yourself alive! Be careful with overloading your panel. It's good to actually let the electrician know what you're doing (they can always tell anyway), and have them set you up proper. Glad you're alright tho dude!

Anyway, it's so hard to gauge what plants will hermie or not under stress (whether from light leaks, temperature, whatevs) without having experience with them. It varies so wildly from strain to strain. I had a chem99 cutting that would develop seeds if you just opened the door to take a peek at the temperature when it was in flower. But my Pakistan valley mother and all her babies can deal with high heat, power outages causing sporadic lighting, lights accidentally being left on (didn't realize timer wasn't set to timer), and she's crazy drought resistant. She's never popped a seed.

I had a blue dream clone that just started hermieing constantly one day. I don't know why. Maybe it had been cloned from a clone of a clone too many times instead of having a proper mother (I was young and reckless!!). I don't know. All you can really do is make sure you're light tight from now on and cross your fingers.

well i only have 400w hps, so it wasn't what caused the breaker. What happened was that water leaked in from outside (it was raining). He saw it right away. Let's just hope they didn't report any smells, they seemed like alright guys but I live in a big bible thumping area. I ran the plants outside and shoved them into the raspberry bush haha. I have no odor control though since i live in the middle of the country and noone ever really comes here. first time in three years i ever even had anyone but family here. wtf! right when i have a grow going? really?

that sucks man, always goes back to what I've learned (often the hard way), make drip loops for all your outlets, EXPECT there to be leaks, so never put them facing down, make a drip-loop.
Not saying you did anything wrong, but what i'm saying is don't put your outlets anywhere where water can collect (meaning at a "low-point") or at a wall near any junction in the building.
I grow outside in a shed, in a redwood rainforest (well, normally a rain-forest)so I have dealt with my share of odd leaks

that's weird shit man, I ran the clone SCBD for almost a decade, and subjected it to all sorts of abuse, and I never saw a single herm flower, that bluedream was a stout plant, and I cloned off clones, HUNDREDS of times too, I also never saw any sort of "genetic-drift" which i'm not sure I buy anyways.

The blue dream I had was from Humboldt seeds and it was definitely not the phenotype every one brags about it. The only reason I kept it around was for my wife. She liked it because she's not a huge pothead like me and needs a low thc strain. I don't know what happened, it happened back when I was still working on my learning curve lol.

ahhh that makes sense.
I was gonna say the SCBD clone only BD is one of the planets finest strains overall.
that plant is awesome at damn near everything, cloning, producing, finishing fast (especially for a sat/dom)

heres a pic of one
this one was probably cloned off clones, at least 30 generations

mm that looks so nice and frosty. i got a light leak question, I ordred a tent, and its got tiny pinhole light leaks, as well as some leaks in certain zipper spots. how much light leak is too much? its pretty damn dark in there with the zipper closed, but those tiny pinholes look like stars on a night sky

hard to say for sure, I've never had a plant hermie from light issues, BUT it will slow down the flowering, maybe even delay enough to trigger regen.
so i'd get me some good gorilla tape, and do some patch work my friend

It dependz what outside of tent light situation is....i have pinhole leakz aswell. But for the most part the tents are in a dark room...so it doesnt matter..no issues from me.
