That is one bad ass light. I recommend it. Never used one but it has shows to be very effective multiple times on this sub forum. Just hella intense!

Reflectors will give you more of a downward footprint you can see and the lenses throw the light around a bit more to mix them. I was using lenses for a long time on my diy but switched to reflectors mid flower.
Any grow logs using these? I found 2?

Can anyone help me out here?

Should I use the CXB 3070 or the CXB 3590 for double the price, is it really worth that big of an investment? I'm only utilising a 4x4 space, i figured 12 CXB 3070 would work well enough. Are the extra 2500 lumens worth it @ £45 per COB? The 3070 is only £25.

Side note: Still need help understanding lenses (Do I even need lenses??!:shock::shock:) .... what's the best one to use? I have people telling me I should use samsung strips etc, I'm having trouble deciding what to do.. help would be really appreciated. :peace:

And those continue to be terrible prices. Just search the site, man.

This is the only site in the UK. . Shipping is too expensive from the us, canada etc
That must be a one-way street then, because I order from the UK, Germany, and Australia pretty often, and shipping is reasonable. Especially when you are spending 50% more a cob than other people are paying.

I'm looking for some advice for buying some premade LED lights. (I'm not so handy with DIY projects) I'm setting up a 4'x4' grow tent with 6 plants evenly spaced out in 2 rows of 3 plants each. I'm aiming to get about 5000 lumen to maximize uptake since I have a CO2 regulator set-up. My first findings pointed me in the direction of these Mars Hydro 300 lights: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mars-Hydro-300-Full-Spectrum-LED-Grow-Light-140w-true-Wat-For-Veg-Flowering-Lamp/291666162702?rt=nc&_soffid=200&_soffType=SaleAndClearence&_trksid=p5731.m3795

Could anyone give me some pointers?

Hmm, 690 dollars a piece is just way too steep for me, if I got two they would be 3 times the price I paid to set up everything but the lighting. Are there comparable LED products for less available? What's the difference between the TastyLED and the Mars Hydro in terms of yield? Does it make much of a difference? (I'd hope so with that price-gap haha :'))

Just start with one and net it out with a shorter canopy and you will be amazed with the results. With LEDs, you truly get what you pay for still, but not much longer.

There is no comparing a Mars to a TastyLED. For one efficiency and for two Mars lights fail after 15 months mine died. Plus TastyLED are made with Cree CXB

Why! I don't lie bud. These are the facts from my perspective.
I really hope I'm wrong as I'd be the one stuck with lights that may not give me as much in return as my current choice.
But I will do the test. Just need a price match & I'll start right away.
If you have 2 of the same Amares, run one full on, the other just the CoBs. Keep in mind even clones from the same mother may not grow the same

Hello,

I am looking for an LED light for my mother plants. So mainly need it for vegging only. I have a 6' x 6' area i need to cover. I been looking at the ProGrwo180 and ProGwor400 lights from Hydroponics Hut. Any recommendations?

He and 51 hit heads, shortly after him kissing their ass and 51 giving him FREE lights. Because, jeff, with the knowledge he had- knew how little pet did, and knew how bad he was spewing bullshit everywhere. Again, gotta question your sources but always keep an open mind. It will help you. Sorry for the outburst

Half truths as usual. I had long been an all white promoter (ran threads on RIU proving it), using both 5000/3000 light bulbs and 4ft tubes. Jeff offered me an all WHITE panel, but never delivered. Why, we will never know. He had partners at the time, and they did break up soon after. However, they did not come out with it. Without saying why, he appeased me by sending 2 prototype white ufos (3500/5000) that they were not going to move forward with, but he stopped taking my emails about ETA of the white panel. Then made the excuse that he stopped because I was bugging him. If it's as you say, why would he send me anything? Why wouldn't he just say, sorry we decided not to produce that light?

I moved on to BML, but chose my own spectrums which is ~ 85% white, the rest blues and reds. I had a thread(April 14?) that the 51 fan bois bashed, although the weekly pictures showed how well it performed that being 2 years ago, which is like decades as the tech has changed so much, ie, enter the CoBs. Amare contacted me during the BML thread, as we were on the same white based led page. He offered his panels with epis and crees, and still does. He sent me a SE 100/ SE 150 and later an SE 260. All were epis, all were returned after a grow was done- so no freebies. They worked well enough for the state of led development of manufactured panels back then.

I have mentioned many times to Amare that their site is sorely lacking in 411, most glaringly is his failure to explain why supplementing each CoB with a ring of blue/red and IR is important. Clearly, DIYers are getting excellent results without them. IMO, it's a matter of choice. One benefit is the rings are on a separate o/o and can be used for seedlings and clones. I think of the rings as adding a turbo, or supercharger to an already high performance engine. Some are happy without it

Amare fills an important place for those of us who do not want to DIY. Growmau has done a fab job of developing the Cutter kits, I love the design, and quality, but from what I see, they're no bargain price- wise, but then DIY doesn't have to be a bargain.

In closing Hybridway, you need to stop arguing with these guys. They feed on it. Keep posting pics, and respond to anyone asking which light, you can recommend Amare with confidence
