A first attempt at LST on a Lemon Skunk - Help required

Hi guys,

This is my second grow, and after a good grow with the fruit spirit i decided to try the lemon skunk. Now, this strain is entirely different from what i grew accustomed with. I got used to dealing with a small in height, thick, bushy strain and this one has started stretching. I have looked online at tutorials etc but i don't know how this will work out. I want to try and get more of the central and lower down budding areas to grow up into the void i have in the centre. With this setup, is this likely to happen?

All guidance appreciated even the negative ( but sometimes the most helpful ) comments !IMG-20160610-WA0007.jpegIMG-20160610-WA0007.jpeg IMG-20160610-WA0010.jpegIMG-20160610-WA0012.jpegIMG-20160613-WA0003.jpgIMG-20160613-WA0004.jpgIMG-20160613-WA0005.jpg

I've had real good luck using small strips 6 to 12 inch plastic coated 8 gauge wire. The wire allows me to make a stem go in any direction that it needed. I use the same wires over and over each grow.

Just one way, but it works well for me.

Yeah? That is a good idea, i think i may struggle to untie the knots on my setup. I have used cord to try and help with any issues if it cuts into a stem, i will need to wait and see how it comes out. Will this setup allow for stems lower down to grow up do you think? I will have a look in the local hardware stores for some plastic coated wire if you reckon there good for the job and reusable is definitely a bonus.

I'm not going to lie to you mate. Most of those lower branches just aint gonna grow up to your top colas. people actually strip them before flower if they think it wont grow tall enough. This actuallu makes your top buds denser as the energy of the lower bud that was taken off gets sent to the main colas. What kinda light are yer using there by the way?

You would have done well to start training it a bit earlier so as to keep an even canopy. but you have got the general idea of it, wait and see what happens, your lower growth will definatly improve, but at the stage youre at i wouldnt expect them to catch up all the way

yea I was telling him the same thing. Should have stripped that lower growth earlier and sent all the energy to the bigger colas. Those lower buds will just be larf mate.

I never suggested removing lower buds, i disagree with everything you said.My post was concerning the lst. there is no reason to remove branches the more bud sites the better

Yea so you'd rather smoke a bunch of puffy, larf and airy bud. i understand now. I like my nugs dense mate.

Yeah, i have been too late to start i realise that, hopefully it tames those colas trying to reach the sky! I'm using 2 x 300w LED's. I have taken quite a bit off the bottom already i was a bit scared to keep going there didn't look like there was much leaf on the plant for energy purposes?

I don't smoke the lower stuff...i put that in the volcano that little device get the most bang for your buck out the popcorn at the bottom haha. I have a super lemon haze auto on the go as well, i'm going to LST that from a youngster to maximise the yield. I'll be happy with 1-2 ounce from that.
