First time grower and I'm just worried about leaves that have chunks taken out from slugs? Can I still use these leaves? Will they affect the rest of my plant?

They're fine just leave them, there are all kinds of bugs outside that chew on pot like grasshoppers.

leave the damaged leaves on (no pun intended). the more leaves the bigger the harvest.

You can kill the slugs with beer.place a bole of beer by your plant and the slugs will drown in it or just go inches and die..ky

they will yellow and drop off as the plant gets big watch the newer growth to tell how your plant is doing.
