is this compost safe to use?

Well i have another plant in there that hasn't hermied at all. its got much tigher and bigger buds and is doing much better. Though I think early on I did have some light leaks, but you know what, this particular plant, now that i think about it, i had a hard time telling it in pre sex and i was 90% certain there was a male flower on it even at pre sexing.

those leaves are going yellow incredibly fast, i mean at this rate ill have no green leaves at all by the end of the week, and this is week 6 flower. I keep thinking i need to put some nitrogen in there, but when i did that a week ago i got nute burn..and i put one tsp of grow big in. maybe ill try again, i just fed them yesterday with tiger bloom and this morning i had more leaves yellow again

also when i fed them nitrogen i noticed the buds got real leafy. or maybe theyre not, you tell me, let me upload some bud shots from my good plant

Well water or city water?
 
Here's my better plant, i feel like there is too much leafage on my buds, it got worse when i added nitrogen a week or so ago

It's your water. I'd bet money on it. If you're not letting it sit for 24 hours then you're giving your plants chlorine and a slow death. Buy yourself a reverse osmosis filter if you don't have the time to let your water sit.

well the thing is i never saw this through the entire grow until two weeks ago when i started using rain water. before that i had no issues with yellow leaves, but it was raining here so much lately i couldn't sit by and let that water go to waste. the water though was a bit green though, with algae i'm guessing, it sits out there in the sun half the day, could that cause problems?

I'm no scientist on the matter but if everything was fine until you did that, than I would assume that's your issue. I just don't know if more nitrogen is what you need. Maybe get a cheap soil testing kit from the hardware store so you can know for sure. Dumping more stuff into your plants might do more harm than good.
 
alright well after doing a bunch of research i gave them a small dose of ferts, a 20-20-20. hopefully it won't cause p or k burn, but i didn't want to use up the grow big for these shitty plants. Rather save that for my med grow

how much molasses did you give it?
I'd be apprehensive of giving more food though, especially one so potent as 20-20-20

I mixed 1 teaspoon into a gallon of water for the molasses. it was fancy molasses but it was unsulphured, not sure if fancy molasses is a good thing. i went pretty timid on the 20-20-20 fert i think. small mixing and didn't pour much into the planter either

Haha I don't know ..."Fancy molasses is a type of molasses that is very sweet. It is commonly used as a topping for pancakes or biscuits. Fancy molasses is condensed from the pure juice of the sugar cane so it’s the lightest and sweetest of the different types of molasses. Cooking molasses is a blend of fancy molasses and blackstrap molasses"

Well blackstrap molasses is a byproduct of sugar making while fancy molasses is a direct product of sugar cane.

It seems like the fancy molasses has the highest sugar content of the two and that might be your problem? That's not an area I have much experience in. I've always used blackstrap and I've never had a problem. I apply once every three weeks.

Hmm, well.. I wouldn't use that in the future, unless you are making a compost tea and use it as a food source for your microbes.
Honesltly though I don't like BSM as a nutrient source anyways, don't get me wrong BSM is bad-fuckin-ass, but it's almost TOO badass.
MUCH better as a compost teas food source

maybe a compost tea will boost the soil back up, maybe the soil life was interrupted/damaged.
a teaspoon is a LIGHT amount though.
But still, if it was fine before that, and NOT after, then i'd say it's a good guess.
 
yeah idk what happened, I think I'll keep a detailed log on my next round. I did also flush for a while because I had some burning happened. maybe I flushed too much and there really just isn't enough nitrogen in there. I think I flushed for two waterings and then the third was with the molasses, then after that I fed with tiger bloom very lightly, 1 teaspn.

flushed or leached?
remember that contrary to popular thought, usually when a plant is pissed it typically doesn't have anything to do with a deficiency of any kind.
so that's reaaaally a common mistake for newer growers
