4x4 600w HPS Blue(berry) Cookies *first post/GROW

I have horrible insomnia so one night about 2 weeks ago I read my roommate's copy of "Ed Rosenthal's Marijuana Grower's Handbook". Now i'm here. Id love to hear all constructive criticism as I haven't grown a thing in my life nor have I been around any ones grow. Lets get to it.

16 Blue Cookies in 2 gallon pots spread in a 4x4 grow tray.
Clones purchased from Harborside in Oakland 6/03 at avg 5.5" in rapid rooters.
Medium: Hydroton
Recycling 24/7 drip (20 gallon reservoir)
GH 3 part nutes
Tap water


A brief overview of what I'm running
4x4 Vivosun grow tent
Active Air 400 CFM Inline fans
Phresh 6x24 Carbon Airfilter 550 CFM
600w digital dimmable 600w HPS/MG cooltube
Couple oscillating fans for air circulation
2 400 GPH submersible pumps (one to drip one to recirculate)
Airstone


As of today plants are 6-6.5 inches.
Currently under 300w MH (10 inches from plants)
Temps have been from 70*-80* at plant level directly under the light.
PH fluctuations have been between 5.8-6.5
PPM are low 600s ( this seems high to me for veg, any ideas)

@horribleherk nice man. I wish I had more info on the genetics. I heard some say Blue cookies is F1 durban x Florida OG or Blueberry xGSC while some say blue berry cookies is platinum OG x Blueberry Diesel.

They were cloned from "The Bakery"

Vegging plants like high humidity. Look into that next. Sweet and clean setup! You located in the bay area? How much was the clones? Did they already have a ton of roots? I just tried my hand at clones and have lost 2 of the 8... likely to lose a few more lol

I'm technically on my 3rd grow but 2nd grow that I've gotten this far without a house fire to interrupt things lol. I'm running autos again and they are amazingly easy and quick yielders.

I'm thinking they have both the one I'm looking at is platinum gsc -X- blueberry diesel

@Zspy1985 Ah, yes, humidity has been around 58-63%

New pics coming soon, a few plants are starting to worry me. Im more than likely just being paranoid but some reassurance will be nice.

@Zspy1985 yes I'm located in the bay, you? Also where did you purchase your clones from. I'm not sure if every club does this but harborside went through all 16 of my clones to make sure they were well rooted. I may have gotten 1 or 2 that didn't have very many visible roots but surprisingly they're my biggest plants now...

This is probably just me being worried but here are my "worry" plants. It's so hard to diagnose leaf symptoms at this point because of my lack of experience (they all look somewhat similar)

My concerns are the leaves in the first pic
Yellowing in the second
Curling in the third
And 1/4 of my plants leaves are curling down or drooping. Is this from overwatering?

Check your pH, and make sure you don't have lockout. As above you stated that your pH range is 5.8-6.5, that is too high. 6.5 is great for soil grows!

Hi, care to show of your watering setup a little more?im thinking of running a drip system l, just can't pinpoint the setup

@Gary Ganja here is my drip system. Fairly simple. 1/4" tubing all around with some t connectors and a couple elbows. 400gph pump, pumps to a main line which breaks of into 2 lines. Each line feeds 8 plants (did this to even out water pressure) the last plant has an elbow instead of a T. It's really important that your lines are relatively equal or some plants will get more water than others. Each ring I just poked 6 holes into with a hot 25g needle. I don't recommend doing this because your holes won't be the same size and if one hole provides the less resistance it'll most likely come out of that hole only. It probably would have worked better had I melted a needle and let the heat melt the plastic opposed to me trying to puncture it with a hard needle. More holes aren't always better. I recommend 2-4.

What is everyone's thoughts on additives (bloom boosters etc) I'm on the skeptical side. I view them the same way as I view supplements in the health industry $$$$$$$$$$$. My roomate swears by them. Also he insists that I use something like avid to prevent spider mites. My little bit of research says that's a no no but I do have less experience and am open to to suggestions. He says if I get them I won't get rid of them... Is this true?

@Gary Ganja i forgot to mention I also have a 400gph pump to recirculate the water. As well as a 3watt air pump connected to a small airstone in a 20gallon Rubbermaid brute container. I'm going to add a larger airstone

I'm in the east bay, Pittsburg area. I see there are some clones for sale on Craigslist but I don't trust that at all ...everything about meeting to buy things on the internet seems scary LOL

I was thinking of going to Habor Side in Oakland cause I would get the better piece of mind for everyones safety and quality I should expect.

I took some clones from my brother in laws plant I had him take over for me. I'm finding seeds to come easy vs trying to root clones in a 95 degree garage now lol
