third seed has started to germ. cracked open but not much else yet. on for a planting tomorrow tho.

the two seeds planted earlier are still in the sponge (near the top) and look like they are ditching their shells.

third seed planted.

cupboard humidity dropped down to 20% but i've got it back up to 40%. the seedling are under domes tho.

temps have been pretty erratic. i pulled the 125w cfls and am just using the ag hood.

I purchased an aerogarden a few weeks ago and so far so good. Will enclose a pic of 5 weeks. One of the things you can do is, to get a longer plug cord so as to raise the hood of the ag and thereby create a taller workspace.

hi indicative
i do have a long cable for when the time comes to go beyond the height limit of the aerogarden but i would like to use my 2 125w cfls if i can control the temps better.

look forward to seeing more of your pics.

been there. My plants seem like they aren't growing until I look at the weekly pics.

hi volcomi
yeah i guess i have to be more patient for the green to show but i'm also checking to try to gauge and control temp and humidity which is easier said than done. any tips you got would be welcome?

I have yet to have my temp above 75F. But I'm also growing in a closet. I could see it being more of a problem if I was using a grow box

75f is what aiming for but i'm averaging 80-85f just using the aerogarden lights. when i had the 2 cfls running instead of the aero hood, the temps went thru the roof and the humidity plummeted.

it's all good experience tho. :peace:

could u some how get a fan in or around there? idk i got a big ass fan, keeps the temps down. :eyesmoke:
hi gr33n thumb
i do have two fans. one intake and one exhaust. intake is 117m3/h and exhaust is 85m3/h. i think the main problem is that the box is in a cupboard and with the door shut i'm just recirculating hot air. i'll keep monitoring things and make whatever mods i can. at the moment things aren't too bad.

thyme and parsley have their first leaves showing and chives looks about ready to shed the seed pod. i replaced the aerogarden humidity domes with some larger plastic cups yesterday. i also have a a small piece of damp paper towel under the cups.

pics of thyme and parsley attached.

u should leave the aerogarden ones on cause as soon as ur plants touch the top of the dome they don't need them any more

what's that on the top of your aerogarden? If it's what I think it is (reflective material) it's def not needed. Plants absorb light through the tops not bottom of leaves.
