Help have fungus gnats I have had this problem for about 6 weeks now the 5th week of veg and now they are in the fourth week of Bloom and my plants look horrible I've gotten mosquito bits and just put it on my soil about 5 days ago( only put about a cup around the whole 5 gallon bucket) it doesn't look like the plants are doing any better.. I l also tried hydrogen peroxide 1 cups to a gallon..they have brown spots on the top of the leaves and are yellow and just dry up and die could it be deficiencies and the fungus gnats I'm kind of new to this so I'm still learning if anybody can help me with this that would be great

I went to Home Depot and grabbed some Diatomaceous Earth (about $7 for a huge bag I think) and sprinkled it over the top of the soil. It seals the eggs/hatchlings in and cuts up the adults who land.

Koo thank u I will have to buy some.. do you sprinkle the soil until you cant see the soil nomore and do you use pH water and do you think I can use my nutrients over it too I use biobizz.. and also from the looks of my pictures could you see anything that looks wrong besides what we're talking about

The stuff is very much like powdered sugar in texture, I would sprinkle it on like you would a pastry. Not inches thick, but good coverage. It's fine to water through it, though it will make a gross paste if you use a lot or water too fast lol. I use soilless media so I ph around 5.8-6.0, it is pretty important for a newer grower IMO.

I'm not great at diagnostics, but I would guess the plant is eating itself due to the gnats trashing the rootzone . Well into bloom I'm not sure how much can be done, if she were in veg I would say get some rooting stimulants like kelp or Great White type mycos..

Water your plants from the bottom, put an old tee shirt on the soil, and get some fly paper. They probably came in with your soil. A bitch to finally get rid of but with perseverance it can be done. As to your plants, I don't think the problem is being caused by the Gnats.

It's better than pecker gnats. I use gnatrol with every watering. Been good for 2 cycles.

I had pecker gnats twice. But just in me eyebrows.

I put a 1/2" of playground sand on the top throughly, with sprinkles of DE on top. If the adults find any opening they will enter the soil and lay eggs. Sand is too heavy and they'll be assed out, the larva wont be able to exit when they are transformed either.

The plants in those pictures look to have more problems than just fungus gnats.

Fungus gnats only show up when you aren't letting your plants dry enough in between water/feedings. I learned this early on. They are easy to kill but left unchecked the larvae eats roots. As mentioned D-earth works but I choose to use mosquito bits. I just put a 1/2 a tablespoon full of bits in each flower pot. When watered/fed it breaks down slowly and seeps down into the soil. But once I stopped watering my plants to much the problem solved itself and I don't need the bits. But the bits worked until I smartened up.

DE like mentioned and use some Neem Oil in your next watering, also go buy some mosquito dunks, crumble them ontop of the soil before you treat with the neem oil, this should annihilate all the larva.
