Anyone have any experience with led? Been thinking of getting a 300 watt Mars hydro or hydro farmer
I am growing with 2 of the Mars Hydro 600's in a 3×4×5 tent. The 600's do raise my temps in my tent 10-15°F. My 4in extraction fan on a speed controller and Lux temp controller help to keep my temps around 75-78°F during lights on which I run at night to help with temps because I have to run AC during the hotter part of the day.

Yeah I'm going to start running the ac myself because the heat from the tent is just getting sucked back into the tent

Hey there. It looks like you've got the perennial problem that closet/box growers usually get, temp problems. The only ways I've ever solved the problem usually entailed taking the box out of a closet and also stronger fans. That makes it tough when you have to factor in a carbon scrubber, starts to get noisy/noticeable rather quickly.

This might not be popular to say but if you can't fix your temps (if it's not hot enough to kill your plants that should be taken into consideration) you could always sacrifice on your yield and go with less lighting. Again, not ideal, but your main goal is to get some of your own homegrown with discretion. Good luck.

Yeah I recently turned up the fan controller I have a vortex s-line fan it's actually pretty stealthy can't hear it at all when the closet door is shut also switched to 18/6 from 24 lights off from 2:30 to 8:30 while the room is hot checked last night and the temp was 75 with lights on so I hope this helps my problem

so I'm finally starting this grow after a year of procrastination. I have 10 different types of seeds. I have planted blueberry haze and one purple crown. My wife also planted a purple crown just to see what happens. Just germinated the seeds till the tails popped out just a bit. I'm using a ufo light from an un-named brand. Me and my buddy used one in our last grow and it actually worked well. I have a ipower Carbon filters got on Amazon and a vortex s-line inline fan for noise with a speed controller. Using a tent I found on eBay for 40 bucks (won it in a auction) . The tent is located in the back of my closet. Due to me moving back to California we moved in with my sister in law in a apartment and I have to keep this pretty low-key. I will be posting pictures of closet and inside the tent in a little while. Right now I have some organic potting soil has only .5-.5-.5. I'm going to either pick up happy frog soil or some fox farms ocean forest. Any suggestions ? Never used either so any input would help.
I've only used Happy Frog but I am very happy with it. It is light weight which is ideal for root growth. It dries out pretty quickly too which I see as an advantage in root rot prevention, but others might see as a disadvantage because of how often they'll need to water. I was watering every 2 days with 2/3 to 3/4 3 gallon smart pots (fabric so they dry out faster). Now I'm soaking them more thoroughly and doing every 3 days. From what I've read, Happy Frog won't fertilize the plants for as long and has a slightly higher ph.
