pyrethrins are a class of
organic compounds normally derived from
Chrysanthemum cinerariifolium that have potent
insecticidal activity by targeting the nervous systems of
insects. Pyrethrin is synthetically made by industrial methods, but it also naturally occurs in chrysanthemum flowers, thus is often considered an
organic insecticide, or at least when is not combined with
piperonyl butoxideor other synthetic
adjuvants.
Their insecticidal and insect-repellent properties have been known and used for thousands of years. Even though mites are not insects they still fall prey just as easy. repeat spray every 2-3 days until the mites stop appearing. you have to kill all the hatchlings. eggs are hard to kill.
Mighty wash is glorified water and a waste of money. I spend hudnreds on it and i hardly helped.
spinosad I have yet to see it work for someone.
best way to get rid of mites is dont get them to begin with. Dont take in outdoor plants or clones from other people unless you really know what you are doing in quarantine. Most havent a clue. I havent had spider mites in years. I suggest starting all your plants from seeds, keep mothers, then just clone. It's easy to find seeds for killer strains these days. You don't need those special 'clone only' plants. You can find stuff just as good from seed if not better.
