Help required with my first manifold

Hello everyone. This is my first of hopefully many posts on this site. So here goes... I've done a few small CFL grows and all went well. Have moved to a 1.2 X 1.2 X 2m tent with 600W HPS. no issues with cooling, lights etc.. So I decided as I am an engineer to have a go at a manifold. All seems well. From the pictures you will see I haven't worried about ensuring all bud sites are the same amount of nodes from the main stem. I've set mine up purely for ease as it's the first one. My question is about what I need to prune next. All bud sites are very healthy and have new shoots appearing all the time. I've read you should keep lopping off the undergrowth and only leave the top shoots etc. Could someone take a look and shed some Gandalf style wisdom please. Cheers. Crashmat

Are you fishing???....cuz that plant is a beauty!You've done a great job of mainlining..or manifolding:).
Yeah man you read right I would keep lopping off any growth from underneath you want that growth energy focused on your tops.

Hey dude. Thanks for the reply. Nope no fishing here. I spent a few months reading up then decided to have a go. Only my second ever grow. My theory is to keep everything as level as possible, seems to be working so far but you never know if you've missed something important. Cheers for the tip on pruning will get on with that tonight. My next worry is when to flower her. I see threads where the lady is about 40 cm tall or thereabouts, but as I have kept mine all level, the heads are only a few inches from the soil, but if you add the length of stems etc it would be ready to flower... So that's the next issue for me.

Ya man. Beauty plant. I just flipped mine to flower. I have 3 ready with 8 tops each. I trimmed them a week ago and will trim and supercrop again in 2 and 4 weeks out. I dont think you want to be playing with them every day or two. Let em do its thing mostly imo

Thanks man. I guess for me it's a case of knowing when to put the scissors down lol. Just seen your img. Beaut! I guess with mine as they are so low to the soil but developed, that I could give them another week then on to flower. She is 3 weeks into the manifold from the time I topped her

Ya give em a good trim. Let them recover 4-7days and flip em. You will need some support structure probably

You have a tall enough space to veg a while longer ..so I would;)
Just remember she'll double or triple in height so begin flowering accordingly.....I think that's right:)

I'm in no rush (just picked up 5 amnesia auto seeds). And this is all in general compost soil, water every two days, zero nutes. I simply use tap water from a plastic bottle. I fill the bottle up then leave the lid off for 48 hours to let the chemicals evaporate

Agreed. I kinda know what needs doing, but always best to check. Plants are like wood, easy to remove bits but nearly impossible to add to. Looking at the bud sites, each new growth is right on top of the older ones so should help with denser buds hopefully. I can get my lights 10" from the plant with no stress so it's super tight

Hey so after reading all the sound pointers, my lady has had her haircut and is now high and tight and ready to join the Royal Marines lol. One more Q.. On the second picture do I lop off these growth tips or leave them? I guess the idea is to keep the stem as straight as possible with no growth tips wandering off and doing their own shit?

Looks good. Kind of your call on that one. I left like 3 nodes on each ans they filled back in fairly quickly. Because you still need some verticle growth i would probably take that one off. But then try to let it go at least a week before you do anything else to her

Perfect and thanks again. Good to know I'm doing it right which is my biggest worry. She seems to be healthy so I'll remove those ones (I see what you mean about vert growth), all makes sense
Gotta love the devil's lettuce :))
