hello guys
When i bought my cfl light there was 2 watt number 1- the watt usage 2- the watt given
Ex. 90w= 425w <<< the one im using
My question is if my plant need 200 watt
Should i count these as 90 so i need 2 of them or should i count it as 400 and one will be enough

And if im using one 6500 and want to add anouther one should it be 6500 or 2700

Thank you

If your only.growing one.plant I'd say your better off using 10 20w cfls all around the plant giving no dark or shaded spots rather than using 2 90w bulbs.
The wattage your using is the actual watts not the equivalent watts. Also the higher wattage cfls aren't as efficient as the low watt bulbs (at least not lumen wise).
As for the spectrum it would also be easier to mix with 10 smaller bulbs. But I'd say go with one of each if your dead set on using the 90s. If you decide to go smaller I would use a 3:1 ratio of blue:red.
Hope this helps ya out.

They will put off a little less heat than say 2x 90w and a single 20w.

Think.of.it.this way.. when you have a lamp it uses the electricity to produce light and heat, so generally that's why the same wattage of "grow" lights will be somewhat similar in heat output because they are designed to be more efficient at putting out light. Its the same reason that a 100w incandescent (regular dome shaped household bulb) that puts out 900 lumens will run much hotter than the 26w cfl (roughly 100w equivalent of incandescent) that puts out 900 lumens (my numbers are just examples by the way).

It is also the reason you will have more light output from the many smaller bulbs vs. The 2 larger ones.

With good air exchange...ie...intake and outtake fans,ac,hole in the wall;) heat from cfls shouldn't be an issue. What's your airflow like?Any fans?

I have 4x8 carbon filter with 100 cfm 4 inch inline fan its sucking air very bad but its removing all the smell 100%, keep the tent at negative pressure and it kept the tent at 26-27c with 90w lamp
