Im a first time grower. I have baby clones in dixie cups in my grow tent with a KIND LED light. How far away should the light be from the baby clones?

Canopy tops are closer to 18 inches but no further. Don't get too close, you want keep them from persperating through the leaves.

I litterally just keep a tray of clones in an.area that's lit for veg plants. Usually my light is 3-5 feet away from them until they get roots. They don't need much light at all before they root.
Are the cups under a dome? I personally don't have as high a success rate without the tray and dome.

I have em under t5 not led. But from what I've seen in led threads you keep them farther away than t5's anyway no?
I'm just saying unrooted clones don't need much light at all. Hell ive rooted cuttings in a cup of water on a counter that wasnt even near any windows...

Sweet! I've only assumed i should be giving them regular lighting. I've read lots of ppl concerned with the lighting schedule but that obviously isn't a real conclusion. The LEDs vary from manufacturing, the panel is use should be 12-18" according to the manual but it's only 360w

Ya for.veg growth I.keep t5s within 5. Inches of the tops so that's much closer than the.recommendation on your led. And I'd say my clones root the fastest under 24/0 and they will throw flowers before they root sometimes on 12/12 (if the moms are mature) but distance to light has.never been a big factor for me.
I guess a benefit of having light close could be heat if it was.chilly on your area's floor.
