Not sure which tent to get

The hydroponics shop near my house is trying to sell me your used grow tent to save me money which is cool. But they said it's going to heat up my house. I noticed that the gorilla grow tents have super thick walls to keep the heat in. I am a complete beginner 2 growing and kno nothing at all. but I want to make sure I buy the right tent the first time around. Is it worth it to spend the $430 on the Gorilla Grow Tent to keep the heat in so my apartment doesn't get hot in the long run rather than saving money and getting a used tent? Any advice would be helpful thank you

I like the Gorrilla tents because they are very well made, unlike the many of the cheaper options you find around the net. You won't have to worry about light leaks or the zippers breaking. I'm not sure if I would buy a used grow tent, honestly. Who knows what went wrong in their from the previous owner(s). Just not the type of thing I'd be comfortable buying unless it was at a MASSIVE discount and I had some idea of where it had been. The thicker Gorrilla tent should be better at containing the heat as you thought, you should consider getting an air-cooled light hood if you are going to be running 600W(depending on the size of the tent).

I never owned a grow tent as I'm gowing in an Ikea wardrobe, but I have been thinking of getting one. It will be important for my tent to have ducts that would allow me to install an air cooled hood/cooltube/seperate cooling for the light.

That's something you could consider when choosing a grow tent

I currently use a 2x4 from Apollo horticulture and I believe it was under the 100 bucks, can't beat it for that price honestly. Have removable Velcro patches for the passive Intakes, plenty of vents and two sleeves for power cords.

Your concern about keeping heat in your tent concerns me for the fact you should keep everything under 85 in your grow tent, under 80 is more preferable, so while your worried about heating up your apartment you should make sure you can maintain good growing environment conditions before you buy a tent, you will be very disappointed if you give your first try at growing with a 100 degree tent in the corner of the room.

In your case I would run air cooler hoods and vent the heat out of your tent, (then deal with getting it out of the apartment) if you have the option to vent it out a window that's prime but you will need to scrub that air because it WILL stink.

If not you should be okay letting it vent into the area you use the least in your apartment, your ac will kick on more frequently but shouldn't be to noticeable on the small scale your trying to accomplish

SO good it its a problem... That Gorilla tent with 600W and 4 8" cfans stays 10 degrees hotter then my 1k hps with 3 6" cfans. Pain in the arse.. RH is a joke in it unless you get the mega humidifier and shut off outs.

I got multiple tents and the 4x8 Gorilla is great but it is awkward to open and the interior seems like it will separate at some point plus the velcro that attaches at the bottom front vertical flap becomes shetty after a year of use.

Light leaks on seams and zippers no farking way. Light leaks at the overlapping points that the shetty velcro should cover yes some.

Best feature are the poles that are 3x bigger then the rest. I can put the poles from the other tents inside the gorilla pole. Worth the full price ummm on the fence. You will giggle like a little girl if you get one though the extension kits make a ladder a must...
