You will need a timer for both lights and pumps spend the money on good ones so that you can schedule many different times for the pumps the lights you can use cheap standard 12 on 12 off.

I use hydroden rocks you have to flood more often but its simple i wont use them all the time but for starters they work. Are you going to start from seeds or clones?

yeah, i was thinking the shower would be a perfect place to build some humidity up being that could be the area for clones..I'm just wondering if I could really benefit from having an MH light in there compared to other maybe cheaper ideas.

Yeah i checked craigslist and found a ballast for 50 bucks, probably could get it for 40, i sent them emails already :peace:

hahah man, im just really stoked im getting replies and people are into it! I get it pretty easy, I always loved it in school..I can see resemblance in how a farm works as thats how I grew up compared to this hahah :bongsmilie:

I agree this is what i use. very simple. Go MH i started with floros and i regret it!!! pick up a 250w MH and you will have no issues. Plan out your ventalation you have to have lots of air. Remember AIR WATER LIGHT??

How often do I need to have the pump on?

I'm going to start from seeds, then make clones from there..

Wow YOU are at the same place i was almost 90 days ago!!

Things i learned, lights if you have the electricity use a 1000w HPS and a 250 MH. Ventilation is going to be a huge problem so work that out.

Do you have your seeds? I would wait until you have your 250MH set up before you start them. I started mine and then built and i fought it all the way. Thats where a lot of my mistakes came from having to adapt something i did earlier.

DId you say you grew up on a farm?

haha, only 90 days not that far behind..I always looked to other skaterboarders(starters) as just giving them advice and props to getting into it.

Yeah, I do have my seeds. I am planning on waiting haha, i started to put them in water to germ, then thought about doing 1 or 2 just to see if they would sprout and not give a sh1t but... i didn't under better judgement and rethinking the situtiaton

haha. okay, so what are some good solutions to fixing the ventilation?

There is already a vent going outside from the top of the bathroom, then there is an attic on the other side of the bathroom above.. also a window that i planned to close off

so I should have another drain in the tray open at all times allowing the water to drain all the way every time I set the pump to flow? The first drain wouldbe the one that secures it from overflowing being about 5 inches up

Ok do you own the house? can you make these mods?

With just my 600W HPS my room temps are at 85 with lights on and a 8in 740cfm out and 6in in 400 CFM . ALMOST too hot. Your vent out the bathroom is maybe 250cfm you will need at least a 6in in and out so ducting will be an issue. You said you have AC but how will you control the temp?

The mods could be possible, depending on what they were? are you talking I might need to vent to the attic?? Where should I bring in air from?

For cooling ac and fans would not suffice? Perhaps the squirrel cage fan that is pushing air out through the vent and fans inside?

I will just have 1 light for flower, one for veg..Housing the room is pretty much free for grabs. I have a washer in there I could take out that would leave an extra room. maybe 3 foot space(stand up washer unit fixture) Money I would really like to keep it around 400 dollars. I know i hear you guys laughing at me right now

400 dollars wont buy you a new 600w set up!! you need to reevaluate your grow my friend. I am guessing but i bet i have almost 3G into this.

Yeah, actually thinking about about it.. It would be a bit more..What cost you the most?

It's still all good. I mean, I know it would be cheaper to go soil, but would it really be worth it?

I mean, I found a ballast and a light for 150 via craigslist etc. So, two lights...300 + everything else 200-300..nutes+100..I think i can get by with it about like that?
