I used to have a closet. Now it has clothes. I used to have a box. Time has claimed it. I still have the parts. Some still new, never got put to use. Some old, still has use. A few seeds were planted, a few plants were raised. A few seeds still saved from those days.

When I had a closet, I used 4' fluorescent, and a "paint can ballast" bare bulb150w HPS. I ignorantly vented through the attic hatch with a box fan. Cheap topsoil, perlite & Miracle Grow fertilizer. It worked for a few Mexican brick weed babies. Tall plants with a few long but fluffy buddings and a lot of popcorn budding. Then I tried a new grow medium. Ever hear the woes of "soidro"? Air stones in dirt. Ha!

Life changes, different house, different roomates; but with a much better understanding of growing and associated DIYs.

Built a big "Scrog'n Box". The box got the 150w, and I bought a 5" short cooltube. Went "Hempy Bucket" and Lucas formula (Maxibloom salts). I bought a few seeds, I even won a pack once. I kept a male and then his pollen. I made seeds.

The forum I was on, 420boards, became a Myspace for stoners and I phased out of growing due to life's ways.

But the time has come to grow again. So I bought a 2x2x4 tent.

I wonder if my Vortex B (short bushy male) x Vortex A (vine like female) seeds are still good..

Spend $40 on some floaty hydroton from the hydro store and go F&D hydro. At present I have a 2'x2'x6" table with ten gallons in the rez. I have switched recently to the soft rock wool purchased by the bail from any lumber construction store. These are truly the cheapest and most durable mediums.

At sea level the watering is six, six minute F&D every 24 hour(every 4 hrs). Set the fertilizer at 1/6 per gallon as recommended for outdoor. Then PH the res to 5.5PH to start(dolomite lime). Clean and change the rez every 5-7 days depending on consumption. Keep the rez somewhere in the 60'sF.

Dolomite lime can be purchased by the sack at most construction stores. It doesn't take much per rez to drop the PH to 5.5PH. I would expect an upward swing in the PH as the plant(s) consume the NPK and discharge waste.

Use an NPK that is suitable for budding.
