1 plant dwc scrog

She's down to only wanting .2 EC of feed, i wouldn't say her water intake has changed much though. Still drinking a good lot.
Question since you mentioned it, as I've said before I'm not one to do crazy water management but ec is something I have been trying to understand. I know this formula basically is to find out whether your plant is taking nutes vs water and visa versa. As I have said in other posts my water is very hard 600 ppm from the tap. I do use ppm to know how much nutes I am mixing, but how do I read the EC to know wether water or nutes are being used? ( I hope my question is clear enough).

If your EC rises when the water drops there are too much nutes. Simply because the plant isn't taking them all in as it drinks so it leaves some behind in turn raising the EC due to the nute to water ratio.
If EC lowers a lot when water lowers then it's underfed and could use more nutes.
If EC stays the same as water drops you found your sweet spot, if anything a little drop is good as well. I would prefer a lil drop over a lil rise.

I feel that's a great method when just using a base nute/nutes. But once you start using extra stuff like PK boosters and whatnot you'll be changing that nute ratio around and could possibly still nute burn even if the EC stays the same or lowers because you could have too much PK or whatever extra, yet the plant could be feeding just fine on the base nutes.

Hey man. Grow looks awesome. Is there any reason why you didn't use the floranova grow for veg?
Thanks man! I've seen a great grow done with just flora nova bloom so I tried it out myself and am very happy with the results. I only aim to veg for 4 weeks, if I did a long veg I'd consider it but figure no point in spending the money. Supposedly flora nova bloom is similiar to the Lucas Formula, a lot of folks use just Maxi Bloom start to finish as well.

Awesome thanks! I did find some info last night and it clicked about ec. Yea I'm not using anything special yet besides nutes and water. Although my next grow I may try incorporating some other stuff. Still need to gather more info first.

I'm curious to know how it will work out for you. Do you find water management time consuming? I know this may be based on opinion or skill level as well, meaning to a seasoned growing water management is probably something that only take a few mins. I don't feel I currently have the time to worry about checking my water everyday at a specific time, and every other intimidating thing I have read. I may not actually even attempt it yet.
Being an on call 24/7 technician, and a full time student consumes my life. I'd like to know what the actual benefits are of water management. Is it the difference(assuming the strain is the same) of ounces or grams? If a plant that I just water and feed nutes yields 4 oz. would all the bells and whistles really make a difference? Are we talking doubling my yield or ending up with 4.5 oz. I know this question does not have a definitive answer, more looking for what has been noticed personally, not read somewhere.

What size pvc pipe are you using ? a scrog project is on the horizon for me
You could easily make one with 3/4". That's what I made mine from. Any size frame would be light and is also large enough to drill holes through for string, twine, or whatever you choose for netting to be threaded through. I made mine out of 3/4" and is 40" x 34" with plain old white string.

I mean yeah it's annoying sometimes. I don't continually top off like some guys do, i let it run all the water down before i refill the res. Since Amnesia is a fuckin beast she needs a refill every 3 days, LSD is still young enough that she can still go a good 7 days though. As the root mass and plant gets larger the quicker they will drink. I've grown 3 oz harvest plants and they never needed to be filled in less than 7 days, so depending on the plant size you may not need to be filling every 3 days like me. Also i'd suggest a larger res for your busy schedule.
I also take a couple minutes a day to check PH and adjust it so thats not time consuming.

I just started messin with PK and whatnot so I can't say I could compare to know if they do or not.

Yea when I had my DWC setup I was watering about the same as you are now. That is part of the reason I switched systems. Some days the water was almost gone the day after refilling.

Yea I do use a res now, have a LP aero setup that has made my life easier. And now whether it is night or day for the ladies I can still take care of water needs.

Only 1/2"
Yeah Im wanting to mount mine to the stand the waterfarm is gonna be on I want it removable & adjustable for height I have a deer wire screen I'm gonna zip tie to the inner perimeter I think 1/2" schedule #40 pvc would be strong enough to support everything I'm liking the looks of the one you made

Did this mod so i could move the Waterfarm and scrog screen.... I've since made one more mod to beef up the handles for clamping the 1/2" pvc tee to the wf....... none of the 1/2" pvc is glued together for the 24"x 30 screen...

Genius man, love it! So the hose clamps will hold it to the round T at place pretty sturdy? Is it so tight you have to loosen the clamps to adjust?

I love the Scrog bucket setup. I did not glue any of mine either, also have my net on a hinge on one side with swinging legs. This way I can fold it up to the wall and the legs fit nicely inside, secure and out of the way until I need it again.

Wanted to share my journal with you guys, get your opinions on it, if you don't mind.

The WF bucket handles were not rigid enough so i cut an 1/8" thick piece of abs to fit between the clamps and the bucket handle... It doesn't take a lot of force to clamp the 1/2" pvc tee tight enough to support the frame...... image_19560.jpg image_19559.jpg image_19558.jpg
