Fybromyalgia

Hey every one,

Hope your keeping well, I've recently been diagnosed with Fybromyalgia and I can't take pain killers as the doctor says I'll get addicted.. The pain is pretty debilitating, more or less means i can do sweet FA when it flares.

Its really annoying because I'm generally a very active person.

Just wondering has any one a recommendations for a good strain, the maintains motivation and is not a couch lock.

thanks so much for reading :)

Hey SnowMonkey,

I haven't been diagnosed but I've been struggling with chronic illness for 10+ years (and I'm currently getting checked out for fibro).

Cannabis has helped me with my GI issues (indicas) but I have yet to find a real day time strain to help with fatigue, achey pains, etc. The one I've tried the most is Chernobyl because the high is very subtle (most people actually complain about it but I find it is great for staying functional).

I think a lot of people have success with high CBD ratios but I seem to get really anxious and nervous with CBD.

Lastly, have you checked out Leafly? It's a massive cannabis strain review site. They have filters for conditions: https://www.leafly.com/explore/conditions-fibromyalgia.

Later.

Don't know if it specifically helps for Fybromyalgia but I run a cut of Harlequin which is 50/50 THC/CBD and I find the benefits for pain are there. It's a clear head stone so it allows me to vape during the day while still being functional yet get pain relief when needed. I don't think you'd want 100% CBD strains (if there actually are any, meaning beyond the claims) but one high in CBD and lower THC could work well.

Barneys farm seeds has a strain called "critical cure" only around 5% thc but 6% CBD. Might look into that one for a daytime use.

i have undiagnosed fibro like symptoms and jack herrer hooked me up BIGTIME.....i was the most productive id been in a couple years. i tried about 20 different strains and nothing could beat jack.....which is why im growing an autoflower of it right now. A close second was harlequin but i had to smoke alot of it. A friend gave me a coulle hits from a northern lights stogey and that was a nice gentle creeper that gave me a really level buzz. I also liked pineapple chunk, blue city diesel and girlscout cookies. You really need to experiment....everyones body chemistry is different.

the jack herrer was my day time strain every single day for 2 months and only a few times did i feel tired enough to lay down and sleep and when i did the sleep was really good and restful.......its a hybrid so it can probly affect you both ways giving so etimes energy and sometimes relaxed.....i experienced both but 95 percent was an energetic and motivational high

the other strains didnt come anywhere close to the predictable results i achieved with jack.....

good luck in your search!

What strain depends a lot of what kind of pain I'm having. Muscle cramping pain tends to respond better to indicas or high cbd strains. Blackwater OG is a good one for me. Grand daddy purple, afgoo were a couple others that did well

A lot of times a sativa works better especially when I'm having more issues with neuropathy. Durban poison, white widow are my two current favorites.

Hybrids have been hit/miss on effects for me.

Good luck finding what works well for you. Cannabis was a major game changer for me. Most days I'm pretty functional and when I do have flares, they're not as bad and don't last as long assuming I take a day to rest.
