I agree that the "old time" pot of yesteryear was better than today's. I've just been growing a couple years and still haven't got it down the way I'd like...my cure is never as good as I'd like it...always smells like hay even though I've followed many of the suggested cure methods...perhaps attritubted to too much "sugar leaf" left on the buds? I don't know....
I second the better strain thing but I also wonder if 35 years of smoking this stuf has dulled the senses lol. I make BHO and it gets me high but not the real highs that I remember, surely to god that would have spanked me back in the day. And yup, I do follow some of what RM does but going out and setting up 30 (not sure of the actual numbers lol) T5's in to a tanning bed ain't gonna happen, just to fucking lazy I guess lol. And yes RM you do come across as a bit superior but a hell of a lot better than you were under a few of your last "also known as" and I see the effort to not do that. Look you grow some great bud and that's where it counts, not all are going to do it like you and that's ok and someone decides to try you've given everyone a true closeup glimpse into your room. The thing is, we all need to let everyone decide for them selves how and what systems and techniques work for them, help if we can and offer experiences more than advice. What keeps me from working a strain is I keep looking for that one and I just am never happy lol. The really pissy thing is I read these threads where people grow out a strain and it's all the rage so I try it and it's just another so so "I think I'm high" kinda thing lol. So how's about throwing a few of you seeds of wonderment my way lol

How are you adding sulfur to your grow? Which Kitty Litter have you been using? Also, does kitty litter have any nutrient/fungicide properties or just great for making loose soil?

Thanks
In every way possible LOL but mostly Potassium Sulfate and actually the kitty liter too 8)
As Calcined Clay slow releases sulfur much like Dolomite does Cal/Mag
I use Wal-Mart Special Kitty unscented natural clay liter 25 lbs under $4

I haven't used a carbon filter since I met RM3 , no nosy neighbors over stank , thieves cant follow their nose my grow. Nuttin but happy ass plants , that stank if you slap em around , overfeed etc .Smell is excellent once cured . I'll never grow stank its a security issue at bare minimum .
What about when your taking down the crop? Trimming? Drying?
Some of you guys are crazy. No smell? Gtfo
I got grey hairs earlier than most. Way earlier than my older brother even. Why, imo, because I grew before we even had charcoal filters. We have indoor spots up in the sticks that we don't give a fuck about, but if you have close neighbors, you gotta be insane listening to advice saying that you don't need charcoal filters. Crazy!

And then there's outdoor. First of all, everyone I know only grows the most fire strains of today, not the old dutch strains that had the stink bred out of them. When we were still pulling off massive outdoor grows, i think you would be suprised how far away you could smell your crop as you are driving in with a fresh nose.
My shit stinks sorry for the rant.

Don't get me wrong, wasn't dissing the strains you grow. I think that is awesome. But if i ever grew indoor without worrying about stink, i would have been busted about 100 times now over the years.
What works in a legal state, is not whats best for most everyone else. Even if I lived in Co, and had nearby neighbors(not saying you do)i would still have charcoal filters on every room, except maybe veg areas.
Call me crazy, I've been called worse:-D

I do tell folks to be careful, not every one can dial in a perfect environment and it is required. But the simple truth/fact is once dialed in they don't stink

and the whole outdoor argument is mute as that environment is constantly changing and includes bugs & critters 8)

Wanted to touch on this a bit, I run 18 bulbs and my footprint is 5 X 5. I have a friend that runs 32 bulbs his footprint is a 12 X 12

I think it is more my confidence coming across as superior, after doing a thing more than 40 years you kinda just know stuff, it becomes second nature. I have also been an electronics tech for 44 years and have a confidence about electronics as well 8)

As far as the flav o fav of the month strains,,,,,, they can be ok if grown right. The cut of Pink Kush I had was very nice, I made 5 crosses with it. The old school highs most remember were bred out to get these mondo high THC strains which IMO was a huge mistake. I have spent years breedin it back in 8)

Well said sir,
We should be neighbors - it would take years to compare notes I think.....
Hats off to you for all your work....

I have currently 3 1000 hps lights going in a 14' x 16' area will turn 4th light on when I move 6 more plants in to flower and I have no filters running cause I am doing a scrog right now I do get a tiny bit of smell but not much at all. Ihave 5 circulating fans moving air around and a mini split to heat/cool the room when needed. In MI the rain keeps changing RH and when it does that is also what caused a bit of smell.
Rm3 I am about 95% sure this is a MM mix as partner mixed up a few tags somehow.
