Vero 10's and Microgreens

What were you running the Veros at Amperage wise?
I'm planning to use a lot less veros than what you had...damn.
My setup is going to be 4 per 8x2' shelf, running at 350 Ma. Each vero is covering approx a 2x2' space.
They're being ran at 300ma. To be honest I think a good idea would be to purchase enough veros to cover a couple shelves and just experiment. I honestly don't think that 4 vero 10s per 2x2 will be enough but like you will read below I think that experimenting a little before making the bigger purchase is a good idea. You might be able to go lower than I did but I can't say for sure.

Those poor things are stretching like long neck geese
That is not cannabis. That isn't meant to be an insult I'm just making sure that's clear. These are microgreens used for garnishes and expensive fancy salads. Like MC said the stretch is actually intentional. Imagine taking a pair of scissors across the underside of the canopy. An inch or 2 of stem is actually desired on the final product so you can imagine how it would be difficult to harvest them without the stretch. These things are incredibly tasty by the way!

you will need ~150 watts of vero 10s to match a T5HO 4 tube 220 watt lamp.
That's a good observation and you are correct ;-). I actually thought at the time that he was using more light than necessary to get those micros to where they need to be. Those little things only have a life span of about 16 days if my memory is correct. He did a side by side comparison and afterward I still think he was using a bit more light than he needed. Now obviously for cannabis this would be different but for micros we are only worried about the sprout so root mass isn't relevant. The reason I say that is because the result of his "side by side" basically showed that at the end of the grow the only significant difference between the trays grown over 200w of T5s compared to 50w of vero 10s was the root mass. The growth above ground was only slightly lacking in comparison to the T5s

Ya, I can see where the stretch would be convenient for micro green.
I am looking for an led option to grow full sized heads of lettuce and that much stretch right out of the gate would be a disaster ;)
