Would flushing not flush out any nutrients the cuttings could potentially need until they establish their own roots? Uneducated opinion btw.

I just take cuttings

Then I add about 300 ppm of nutrient solution and ph to 6.0

As soon as the roots pop the feed is already in the water and I end up with healthy green cuttings.

Seems everyone has there way then im a newbie so trying to soak some knowledge at min, think ile stick with the flush for now, watched a couple of vids and there just feeding tap water for ten days or a very mild nutrient ie 0.15 ec 105 ppm, so unless someone says im totally wrong ile hope for best, first time VIRGIN Ha

A cool thing I did was this.

I started as simple as possible.
No flushing
No nutrients
No cloning gel

Just water and cutting

It works but the cuttings were
Eating themselves while I waited for nice roots.

So having done that experiment I know in my case I add a little food and ph the water. Edit, I do use cloning gel also

I like to start simple then branch out so when something goes wrong I know it was the new element.

I see people here who on the first grow are employing techniques that they really don't need to even think about ever but especially on a first grow.

Find the most direct and simple rout first then expand.

I feel this may sound preachy but 100% is just me being stoned and trying to be helpful.
Suck it!

flushing is a big myth to begin with but I don't see why you would want to flush any cutting/clones..?

Unfortunately im one of these people that likes to follow instruction, this is a flaw of mine lol as i learnt when i got nutrient burn following the ec/ppm chart i got with nutrients. Thanks charface for that advice just what i needed just abit of reassurance really. Watched and read loads and just find people contradict what you just saw like topping ! Half say just top twice the top cola and others say top the hell out of it all over. As i said i like to follow a set way of doing things when im learning but will learn as i go.

I diddnt read the links but I assume it is the old nitrogen inhibiting root production. But that is just my best guess.

Maybe on a variety that consistantly won't root I would take extreme measures but in general
I do as little as I have to do

You are right about conflicting info.
It makes it tough.
I'm most cases there are a lot of grey areas whims is cool but not when you just need to hear a yes or no answer.

Yeh didnt really read past the flushing some chemical out meself but ive got a few plants and sticking to basics but trying a couple of different things on a couple of them seeing what works ie how much to top, lst, hst. Next time rd though i want to try using organic nutrients as i watched a vid that made me think that said some of these chemicals bad for your skin so why would you put in a plant and smoke ? Just made me think, anyone got a opinion x

I believe some of the fox farm nutrients are organic I'm pretty sure the bloom is, but yeah I agree people put all sorts of things in there plants and it's like dude your going to be smoking that at some point, I've heard of bush load giving cancer due to the chemicals in it, but honestly that's why I don't even like smoking other people's because you don't know what kind of bs they put into it, I normally give my plants water the last week or at least couple days where I can can water it twice and enough time to let it dry before I cut it down.

But think of it like this, how in the world are you going to flush chemicals out that you have been giving for months, you just can't it's impossible and alot of chemicals don't even flush out of the plant, same for mold once the plant has it, you will never get rid of it, you can treat it but never truly kill it.

I tried doing a grow yrs ago and spent a small fortune on advanced nutrients, cant remember exactly but sure it was close to £400 if not more, still got a couple of tubs of things with prices on like tarantuala £65 a tub, sensizym £60 and i no i had alof of bottles, went to same shop years later and they advised me to get this shogun i think it is and they said its as good as advanced nutes but half price of it so i took there advice, next time though defo trying organic, not looked into it but sure that would be even dearer.
