Bml or illumitex

Slap some black electrical tape on the heat sink and make sure you're taking your readings from there. Those digital spot radiometers assume emissivity of 0.95, which means that reflectivity is only 5%, leading to extreme probability of error when dealing with aluminum. Electrical tape has emissivity of 0.95 and conducts heat very efficiently so you are looking at the temperature of whatever it is applied to.

Illumitex is way to go ,i have 12 of them ,and they will grow some dense big bud ,no doubt here . Also i run one room last summer only illumitex and diy leds ( CXA3590 ) ,and i don't even use AC ,only lot of wall fans ,and good intake and exhaust air . But they littile on expensive side .I think around 1200 or 1300 hundred right now on them website .

respectfully man, your anecdotal recommendation doesn't mean much to us around here. it is well documented that the Surexi chips used in Illumtex fixtures are just not very efficient. over 20% lower than what you can get with DIY builds. I would have to strongly disagree with this statement.

Just like how you have a BML...he has illumitex. And just like you like the BML results respectively...I think it is the same for him.

love to test one of the new vypr, looks great on paper almost as efficient as a DIY cob light.

currently not happy with my neosol, good light but with a bunch of buts

- efficiency could be a lot better (still better than hid or the cheap china mono leds)
- weighs way too much, hard for one person to hang.
- primary warm light is a 660nm narrow peak, I'm finding plants grow better with a big wide fat peak from 590-660.


maybe I can DIY something like the vypr ?
 
If i am going to buy lights today it will look like this :
1.PLC leds ( good price for ready to go fixture )
2. DIY leds ( i can play with custom sizes to fit my grow rooms )
3. Illumitex Neo Sol 520
Somehow Ilumitex is lacking in vegging stage compare to cree cobs ( at least in my observation ) ,flower no problem
And reason why Illumitex was better option for me that time ,because i can get credit from local power company ,i am commercial grower in WA state I502 ,and for all lights to get them qualified for credit they must be UL rated . If GG make his lights UL rated ,he will sell bunch of them in WA state for sure ,if people want to apply for credit .
I don't try claim anything ,i just try to share my experience to help fellow growers ,and i don't associate with PLC company ,just speaking my opinion .
 
men i wish i can get more time to build something ,but i am so busy to try run 3000sf indoor facility at my farm ,and now we plan to extract 3 greenhouse with light dep ,so it is no really any time to do any diy stuff anymore ,unfortunately. But i still need 20-30 more lights ,so i guess i may have comeback to diy leds sometimes this spring or summer . What is good about leds ,i don't have to use any air conditioner at summer time ,so it saves me shit load money ,just need lot of wall fans and intake and exhaust .

I have been reading forum after forum on lighting for more than a year now, and I think I am going to try "The Mothership" or the PLC LED . The Spydr1200 and Illumitex both look good, but I think I will do a side-by-side at a later date. It seems as though most people like flowering under 3500k. My question is, what type of lights do you veg under? The same fixture with 4000k bulbs? T5s? Induction maybe?

you couldn't pay me to grow with that spectrum. almost identical to the illumitex, which stresses plants out because of the overextended 660nm peak.

Why are you pushing this light? Usually advertisers around here have to Pay to advertise.

I think the Bios Icurus is a bad-ass light. Was considering it 9 months ago.
The owner offers a cool deal to only lay a portion down & if you don't like the lights you can return them for your money back.
Almost tried them.
Their as good as Vivid-grow but better n bigger.

Oh, I'd get Fluence all day over Illumitex.
The bios Icurus needs to be updated.
Unless you're taking about a new one?
