Ive already said this is a lie by Bill. What more do you want me to say? That's not what happened. If you believe that's what happened, you're naive at best, very very stupid at worst
Why didn't Fox reprimand O'Reilly in any way? Why hasn't he ever apologized about lying about being in the Falkland Islands during the war? And why do you believe Fox News doesn't make shit up considering this is a textbook example of them making shit up?
You want to cite this as some sort of lack of integrity by FNC. I can't stop you.
I would only say this is something bill said about his time while he was workingfor CBS. It isn't like the FNC news room put together a bio of bill and had this in the report.
This was bill talking about his past experience, before joining them. FNC isn't totally culpable here. Bill is individually.
Why wouldn't FNC throw him under the bus? Perhaps becuase he is their cash cow. This was him talking about his own life ah
I've been digging a little bit more. It looks like O'reilly did indeed report on the war from Brazil for a while, like MotherJones said. But then it looks like he went on to Argentina while the war was going on and winding down. You said he implied he was in the line of live fire, ive not seen him imply that in anything i've found or you supplied. That's not what happened. If you believe that's what happened, you're naive at best, very very stupid at worst

It also looks like there may be some shred of plausible credibility to his story. At this point I'm not sure. He has archived material from 30 years ago that might support his story.

Not that long of a read if you're interested in reading his side and seeing his evidence.
For arguments sake, lets assume its a lie. BillO totally lied about it.... That isn't FNC lying, that is Bill on live air misremembering the events of his life from 30 years ago when he worked for CBS.
It isn't as if the FNC news chief and the factual review team passed off on a story and decided to run with it.
Why wouldn't FNC discipline Bill? He makes them lots of money, he is rich as fuck, and he is near the end of his career. They're probably begging him to stay.
