Abandoning my grow.

the breaker pops and power goes off lol
This what I mean!!

Now he is sayen that the outlet can handle 1500w

Okay!

My breaker is 16 amp this means that I can fire more than 5x600w lamps knowen that my digital ballast withdrow 2.9amp for every 600w.

Now the question is

IF I have a heavy duty extinsion cord that can handle 16 amp

Can I plug this extension cord to the wall outlet and connect the 5 lamps on this extinsion cord??!

The breaker should trip and eliminate a fire in normal circumstances, BUT... we have no idea of your wiring and breaker setup, so it is probably best to have a local electrician look at your set up. Using extension cords that are not rated for the load is typically where fires start. But again, it is probably worth having a local pro put their eyes on it as any info I would give or others is based on what is accepted national electric code, but some homes do not meet those standards given age or non-permitted construction with inferior products.
Check with local electrician lol

The only one I trsut now is my dog.

Dont get me wrong I have faith in ppl, but I just moved to a new town and I know NO body!

Back to subject.

I always pay attention to the max load the cord can handle.

And this would be 14581732037721174119989.jpg

Max 2500w!

16 amp max

IIl use 2/3 of this capacity just to be in the safe side

The same I do with the breaker i use 2/3

Aint that good enough?

Now regarding I can max use 1500w of one outlet needs some clarification to me!!

@Bubblegum31 the OP's thread is kinda getting highjacked here, sorry @Toaster D, while we always want to help everyone, some of us might get confused with your questions through the OP's thread since we were trying to reply to his thread.

Salvage Job? My fuse box has been crowded since we moved in 10 years ago. This has been coming for some time. No space in current box, jumped a couple back porch outlets to give the free standing building power in the first place. Had a extension cord running for a previous failure. None of the back patio outlets work now either and breakers don't do anything now.

Going to harvest one. Here is my temporary setup on my DNA Lemon Skunk. Gotta use what you have on hand, lol. First pics showed why I moved. Last picture shows the top part to my temporary cabinet.

Wtf are you running for lights that would cause them to overload an outlet like that
600w HPS, 300w LED, 10" Osciallating fan, 8000 BTU AC Unit. 4" 100 CFM intake fan, 190 CFM Exhaust. Not to mention whatever else was on that circuit. Maybe a small fridge to keep my beer warm and a small decorative fountain. Covers the sounds of fans well.

FWIW it was two outlets and I thought they were on different breakers. They're not.

Why not finish the one plant with the led and take out the 600 and ac?

Yep, yep. Not abandoning after all. Keeping my one photo 4 weeks in. Harvesting the auto at day 90. See above about 3 or 4 posts. I need to change my title to "Salvaged my grow?"

Considering at the very least the canopy got to 131 F, I consider myself lucky. A few days early with only a step down in nutrients. Hopefully I didn't cook off potency.

Hey dude glad you could save it. That DNA Lemon Skunk is good smoke for sure! A daytime with an awesome flav. Yeah man getting your panel updated by a pro is SMART! Awesome investment.

The breaker serves more than one outlet. I don't know why the outlets are rated at 1500W, but that's what's on the box and the outlet itself.
Thank you I appreciate your time and effort to write to me..

With all respect Red, I dont think this is true bcz I have more than one appliance home that uses more than 1500w

Drier \ coker \ electric oven

And I never had a fire bcz I used more than 1500w from one outlet!

Any way thanks again for answering me, as this means that I dont write in Chinese and that there is ppl understand what am sayen :)!!

Thanks again friend..

Appliances like those are usually hard wired into the house (no outlet), or if they are plugged in, they always have their own circuit. My kitchen has like 6 of them.

Also not my case!!

I have normal outlets all over the home!
But in your breaker box, it there a breaker marked for the drier? For the furnace? For the stove? For the fridge? Those are usually dedicated circuits.... then breakers marked lights? Living room? Bedrooms? Those circuits will have multiple outlets on them, usually up to 11 boxes or fixtures....
