I've seen this topic mentioned in a bunch other threads, but it would be nice to have the info all in one place, it makes the systems people have tested and conclusions they've made easier to compare.
I'm curious about what brands and strength lights you are using, when you start them in the grow cycle, how long you leave them on for, how close you run them to the plants, and the results you've had.
Currently I have a pair of Reptisun 10.0 23w lights, one at each end of my 2'x4' tent. I'm three weeks into flower, I started them a week ago when the pistols started showing strongly. I started them at one hour per cycle, and each week I'm raising that one hour. I'll continue that until I hit six hours, and then hold that through the end of the run. Since they are CFLs I've been running them similar to others I've done in the past -- i.e. pretty close to the leaves (2"-6"). Not sure if that's too close? This is my first test so I have no conclusions yet.
And random question:
Do you find that the buds nearest the light are frostier than the buds further away? I'm wondering if the plant responds in a modular fashion or if its more uniformly. I've currently got bulbs on either side of the tent (so they don't block my primary light) for my first experiment so I'm curious if the edges will be frostier than the center, and therefor in the future a design with more even coverage would be better?
