noob with a few questions, help please...

hey friends, im a beginner , this may be a really stupid question but here goes,

I really fucked up tonight, well ok maybe im just over reacting. I took my babies down off their shelf tonight to water them and when I put the 3rd one back i bumped a ledge where I had a hot shot no pest sitting, needless to say it fell on her and knocked 2 big fan leaves off.

im really upset because their 41 days old (in veg) and I have a lot into them. my question is,

will this hurt her or stress her to the point it will hermie if it is a female???

also im using cfls and there 60 watt but say they replace the 60 for 150 watts, is that what the plants are getting then??? 60 watts or 150 watts? because if there only getting 60 watts then that means my total watts for my 3 babies is only about 300 watts. I know these maybe dumb questions but hey im a noob, lol.... thanks guys...

Knockin the leaves will only cause a little slower growth in a young plant but has nothing to do with sexing. It is like saying your dick'll fall off if you get punched in the eye.
I'm not sure what you are saying about the CFL. 100 watts incandescent is about 23 watts CFL. It could be saying that the 60 watt CFL replaces a 150 watt incandescent.

Turing a female hermie takes alot more then that. It's usually caused from irregular lighting schedules, poor conditions such as not enough lighting...constant stress of heat to cold...MANY things...but most people over-react too much about females turning hermie...unless your slapping the shit outa it everyday all day...you haven't much to worry about.

thanks guys, what a relief. hey WB im sorry for the confusion. there not 60 watt, their 40 watt cfls and it says on the box they do replace 40 watts for 150 watts. what I meant was, is that what their getting then? 150 watts or 40 watts? because I remember reading on here somewhere that there not getting 150 watts there only getting the actual bulb wattage. I dont see why they wouldnt get the replacement wattage, just curious as to what others think... I just ran down and took a couple pics, there not the best, I threw the leaves away last night. thank you all for the replys. pic 1 is before and pic 2 is after. you can see on the right side at the bottom where the leaves are missing..

Get rid of the tin foil. Plain white walls will do a better job for reflectivness.

Thanks man, thats what Ive been told about tin foil. Ill take your advice. Do you think it would be ok to paint it real quick then put my babies back in within an hour or should I let the fumes mellow out? that may be a dumb question but I really have no other place to keep them for a more than an hour or so. the room there in now is a seperate room in my basement. its a 4 x 10 wine cellar.

you are getting 40 watts. the equivalent rating just shows you that flouresecent is a better light source than your typical incandescent bulb

dont paint unless you give the growing/painted room at least 24 hours(well vented)before you put plants in there.paint gives of toxic fumes and particles harmfull for humans let alone plants.
i use tin foil but put the shiny side to the wall.(dull side out).i have had no problems with foil growing in a small space but just i have got into the habit of rotating my pots
180 degrees when i can(i.e once every six hours).this works well for me.

cool man, thanks for the info, thats kind of what I figured. Ill just finish this harvest with the foil and then decide what to do next time. my grow space is only a 4x 2 space anyway with a 4 ft. 2 bulb floro above with cfls 2 inches from the tops + a 4 ft. 4 bulb floro running horizontal for the sides of the plants, I rotate tham also so I think there ok...

this site quotes about 75 watts per square ft. , so yea, you could stand a few more lights
