Having problems keeping my grow room cool

Hi Guys,

My plants were germinated 2/11 and now I am having problems controlling the heat in the room. I have a 1000w MH / HPS light, which has an air-cooled fan exhaust to blow the air through the light and out the unit. Additionally, I have one box fan inside my 4x6 room.

I am having trouble getting temperatures below 90-degrees.

Suggestions?

Thanks,
Connor

Are you exhausting the air from the light out of the room? If not, try to figure out a way to do that. I dump mine into the attic, but then I installed attic fans too to help make sure the heat build up wasnt too great, dont need my roof failing. All of the HVAC vents to the room are also cut off and I keep a small portable AC in the room that has a thermostatic control.

Some will disagree, but I use the inline fan to pull air through the light not push it, I found this gave me better cooling results. Check out #22 on the list here: http://crimeblog.dallasnews.com/2016/02/police-uncover-marijuana-grow-operation-in-arlington-home.html/....As I said, some will disagree and I did in the beginning too, as I had it originally pushing air, but it didnt cool enough so I switched it and in my situation it helped me.

The size of your fan makes a difference too, at least 440cfm IMO for 1000 watts.

Where are you blowing the heat?
