I am rarely in the Springs due to its political division and vibes.
It is such a gorgeous place though.
Wish the Military acedemy and "focus on the family" didnt exist.
Military academies are a necessary evil, the AFA is one of the very best.

Focus on the Family, not so much.

Yea I can't stand the military culture, or the culture in general, here in the Springs, and I'm a veteran. It's crazy how conservative it is here though when we live in such a progressive state. It is beautiful though here, no doubt about that. One of the only things that is keeping me here right now

That's exactly the vibe keeping me away from there. Well that, plus Ft Collins is a really nice place to be, there's little reason to go anywhere else lol

I wish Fountain would step up their game and focus on redevelopment and commercial development

In a sense they are indeed developing considering Fountain Mesa and the farmland suburbs are being commercialized as well as zoned for residential blocks

however many parts are dilapidated relics of the mid 20th century

but it's such a small town tbh so it's not like they have enough finances to spruce up the town.

If they'd open a fucking pot shop mmj or retail... money right there herr derpp

Right on. Quick question if I could, because me and the mrs are considering Ft Collins as on of the places for our move, is it a college town? I've heard it's not too bad, not like Boulder, but never spoke to someone who currently resides there

Fucking Boulder... land of snotty trust fund babies, all dying to be cooooool. That attitude doesn't last long around here!

Ft Collins is the anti-Boulder; I struck up a conversation with a girl at the bar the other night, asked her about her shirt advertising yet another Ft Collins brewery I hadn't heard of...

Turns out she was one of the owners, told me all about their work getting up n running, the whole bit. You never know who you might be rubbing elbows with; tech startup millionaires wearing grungy shorts n flip flops, catching a show downtown.

One of my neighbors recently retired- he was one of the national directors for The International Red Cross. Totally down to earth couple, they sold me their chicken coop when they upgraded.

Y'all should ask me about the school nurse I ran into a couple years ago. Ask me about his hats.

This is one of the most shockingly educated and proficient enclaves anywhere. We're on the list of top 5 places for innovation in the country- and we're a fifth of the size of the next smallest city on that list.

A few years back we also made the Money magazine list for nicest place to live in the country... at number one.

Recreation? People save up their whole lives to take a once in a lifetime vacation, and they come here. They like it so much the city has grown from a small town of 30k to over 155,000 in just 40 years.

Nuff said, fuckin' place is growing fast enough as it is!

I do not live there but I know it fairly well.
Much better than the Springs IMO and it is just as gorgeous.
It is a college town. MANY kind people. Mostly liberal or libertarian, politically.
It is a hippie town. You will find some of THE BEST Colorado homegrown up there.
The music community is awesome and getting bigger and better.

Oh ya, I forgot; my best friend is a killer Deep House DJ, another bestie works at the local NPR affiliate and knows everything there is to know about the local music scene. I got more connections than Ma Bell, yo!
