New England outdoors 2016

Anyone here try a wick system or any other drought relievers?

In my veggies I do 2 things.

1) Sometimes I take a gallon jug. Throw away the cap. Drill holes on sides and bottom and plant between peppers. When u water. Just full the jug and this reduces wasted water running off or evaporating on surface.

2) You could always fill a wine bottle or even larger glass bottle with water or even nutes and jam in the soil next to root ball for big plants. This is essentially an aqua globe. The plant only drinks water out of the bottle when thirsty. They should last days between refills.

Think 2) is a stupid idea since it will draw attention to the plant? Or good idea since the spot is hopefully hidden enough?

Never plant anything in the ground until at least the middle of April (May is better) in New England, as the ground will be too cold and wet for any decent root development. That's what my Mum taught me, and she was absolutely right. Start your plants on St. Paddies Day, Transplant 1 month later, and all will be good for your fall crop. Do not rush, it will be a waste

I have a feminised DelaHaze from Paradise that is getting planted in April. It was a freebie from last year that I saved. Going in as soon as possible & gunna see what she does

And my final list of genetics for this summer is as follows

DelaHaze-Paradise
Purple Maroc-Femaleseeds
Red Purps-Femaleseeds
Early Skunk-Seedsman
And a handful of seeds I was gifted from my pops friend that lives out in Maine...way out there. Wondering if they're the infamous MotherOfBerries strain from maine? I can't contact the man and I didn't ask when gifted (supah medicated). All the seeds from Maine have stripes and are very plump, I have 20 or so.

I saw an interesting video on you tube by Chester Copperpot on curing and drying.
He said the curing process is done by anaerobic bacteria and it's better not to burp
your curing jars to many times. The bacteria doesn't like oxygen (in case you didn't know
what anaerobic meant) Any opinions?

I haven't ran enough kush's to find a early one.i give a strain 2 strikes u out .iam out in swamps if I were in backyard I think I could find something.i can get to oct 15 in my back yard.in swamps maybe end of sept.

Some people have had success using water crystals in addition to organic materials that hold water and release it slowly over time. Good mulching helps too.
