understand your process, but your paranoia for these three companies is not warranted. the owners are all on active on this forum, so suggest you do a little more research and check out their growing skills and their reputation.

personally i'd pick up a unit from tasty or pacific without hesitation, except that I prefer to build my own.

If you can build them then yes, probably for 1/4 - 1/2 the price. I was just telling you what I just looked at, I'm not doubting anyones skills. But why would anyone want all white LED cobs for veg and bloom? I have no idea how it would hit the spectrums needed. I thought blues and reds were important but may very well be wrong. I'm all ears.

According to Wiki:-"It is known from the study of photomorphogenesis that green, red, far-red and blue light spectra have an effect on root formation, plant growth, and flowering."

I understand they're respected members, that's great. I guess I'll just have to do a lot more reading and maybe the white cobs will grow on me. I've seen em on FleaBay and Anazom as they've been around for a long time but steered away from em. Besides the fact that white contains all spectrums, it kinda goes against everything I thought I'd learned. Seems unbalanced and not a way to control the spectrums going from veg to grow. I'm not saying they won't grow plants, I'm just not sure it's what I'd be happy with.

No harm done, just not my cup of tea at this time.

There are people that can explain this better than me bit heres what I know.

White leds are actually based on blue leds with a phosphor coating to modify the spectrum.This gives white leds a natural spike right in the blue range where you want for veg growth.White led also produce a good amount of red,generally in the 630nm range.And a fair amount of green light which has been shown to assist photosynthesis.When you put red,green and blue together you get white light...just like the sun.Hope that helps.

No these are not adhesive, we sell double sided adhesive pads, but these typically contain resins that inhibit thermal resistance. I normally assemble by lining up the cob and pad and pressing down hard on it(not so hard as to crack the COB), there is an inherent mild tackiness in graphite that will make it adhere to the cob, this will allow you to load into your holder and place down.

Hey All,

What size heat sink would I need for a single cxb3590 run at about 62 watts?

My plan is to start with 4 COBS run on a 240-1400. I'd like the heat sinks and cobs to be separate, so that I can adjust their placement relative to each other.

Do they make a dimmable 240-1400?

I will likely put an 80mm fan on each unit, but I'd like the heat sinks to be able to run passively safely, should the fan fail.

I'd appreciate any ideas about low weight ways to connect the modules.

Also, Growmau5 posted a list of parts for his build at one point, and I can't seem to find it. Please repost if any of you know where it is.

What do you recommend for a commercial style 4' x 4' passive veg light only build?
My thoughts are 4ea 5.88" x 48" heat sinks
20ea. cxb 2530 or 3070
5ea. Per heat sink. I have already purchased 6ea. HLG240-1750B for another project so I have power taken care of I think. Any thoughts or comments are very welcome. Thanks in advance much appreciation to those who willingly contribute to us noobs. HuntAk

Yes the HLG 240 1400B model has dimmer leads, the A models do not

where can I buy 80 degree 100m glass lenses like the kingbrite allibaba ones... for some reason I cant buy from there and then also the 50-2303cr ideal holders
