4x4 cxb3590 first time grower

Hey RIU,
First off I would like to thank everyone for all of the valuable and interesting information found inside these forums. I am a big fan of many of your grows.

Now lets get into it. I currently have 4 plants that are being grown in a 4x4 tent under t5h0 6 bulb 2 ft long veg light. I am a week or so away from flowering and i have yet to order parts for a bloom light. I was thinking either 12 or 16 cobs. I know the info i am searching for is buried within the forums but if anyone can help me speed things up i would appreciate it.

I need a parts list so i can order all the correct parts asap. My budget is around $1500 and i would be more than happy to share all my final results after harvest. Pictures will be uploaded shortly so you can see what im working.

Thank you all for the help in advance ,

I got your answer, and I'm the worst when it comes to cobs!!!!!! 16 3590 piece of shits 4 bars connected with 4 chips on each bar, drivers would be the hlg 185 1400 4 of them sluts. This could be the greatest lamp in history. The bitch is only 800 watts!!!! And i guess you can dim these fuckers, but i haven't got that far in research yet.

that would work, I wouldnt spend time with dimmers myself, I always keep my lights at full intensity anyway. 800 watts for a 4x4 would set u up to grow 1 pound or more of highgrade per round with experience. Simply keep the lights a little farther when plants are younger and also with that much light I would keep them 3' from the tops until budding and never let them closer than 20''.

EDIT sorry i miss the part about your budget being 1500 ... in canadian dollars I spent $1200 for 400 watts so if you are US you would need to spend a little more than 1500, or start with 3 fixtures for 600 watts.

Thank you for the info. I understand it to an extent, i just want to make sure i get the correct parts the first time. I think the drivers depend on how hard/soft you want to run them. I want an efficient light but being more effective is my main priority.

I run 16 with a passive coolhood design. Dimming is nice for zones. 11 sq feet. 800 watts plus a little. You will like it. Even in soil I can get 1000g give or take. An I really don't know much. Welcome.

If one can really get 1000 grams off 800 watts thats just breath taking in beauty!!!!! Have you tried running any of the lower yielding og's ? SFV or fire og to be exact?

This is why i should have started a thread months ago. The members are very helpful. Thanks everyone. Ive decided to say fuck it and just go big even if it puts me over budget. I didnt want to spend over $1500 but now i do. If i was looking to get maximum effectiveness vs maximum efficiency would i still be looking at the same drivers?

GET A B VERSION DIMMABLE DRIVER. there's no reason to have your lights on full blast all the time with no way to dim. Just get them, add your potentiometer(s) and you'll be happy you did.

I would go with 14 cxb's on 2 HLG-240H-C1050's. you could actually do this for a little over $1000, although you did say you want to spend more now...

Um..... no. The 1050 can only run 6 cobs. Not 7. You can only do 12. NOT 14.
The 1750 B (dimmable) can run 4 cobs each, giving each cob 64 watts or so.
It's simple math bud. You times the forward voltage of the cob (36V) by the amperage (1.750) & you get your wattage. So a 1050 would be 36X1.050= 36-37watts.
