Time to switch to flowering mode?

Hey guys, I'm new to growing. I planted several "True OG" seeds, and only one of them took. The others died off completely. I planted it on
November 26th, but keep in mind (as I mentioned earlier) that even the one that seems to have made it struggled in the beginning. To date, I've been supplementing using Dyna-Gro and the plant is now 2'10", and receives 18 hours of lighting. Would you say it's time to switch over to flowering mode and provide a 12/12 light cycle?

I've included two pictures so you can see my plants progress. On one of the pictures you'll see little pistils forming. I thought this meant it's time.

Can somebody please offer some advice on whether or not I can safely switch it over to a 12/12 light cycle now?

I would cut off the top1/2- 2/3 of the plant, pinch the new tops you've now created, give it a week, then flip the switch.
That plant is way too tall

To be honest, I'm scared of the idea of chopping/pruning my one and only plant to clone it. What if it dies? I desperately want at least this one crop. I will wait another week or two and post my plants height, and then we'll see if you guys think we should switch the lighting schedule. Not that I wanna try it right now, but could anyone draw a red circle (Using paint) to illustrate where they would personally make the cut from? Like....which stem exactly?

If you do take the clone, make a humidity dome, get a spray bottle and rooting powder or gel before taking the cutting. If you use rock wool cubes - Flush the wool multiple times with ph'ed water without nutes, gently squeeze the corners and give it a few flicks of your wrists while holding the wool to remove as much water as possible. Once you're happy with wool give it one more flush and let it sit for a few hours. Before taking the clone give the wool a little squeeze on the corners and place it on a dish and/or bowl.

When you're ready to take the cutting get a glass of ph'ed water, get a razor blade and take the cut at about 45 degree angle and dip it straight into the glass of water. Dip it into the rooting powder/gel and now place the clone into the rock wool (about an inch). Now get the dome and mist the inside of it and the clone. Finally put some ph'ed water in the dish (enough to cover the bottom of the dish) and keep it topped up. Don't water the wool directly! Only add water to the dish and let it absorb. Every few hours spray the inside of the dome for two or three days. Remove the dome and keep topping up the water and check for roots over the next fortnight.

This always worked for me and has a 100% success rate.

The Red mark is where I would take the initial cutting and the blue mark is where I would cut it the second time because of the bend in the stem. The bend might cause it to fall over and create a new "S" type bend (best case) or die (worst case) if the humidity is too low.

The mother plant itself won't be affected or die in any case after losing its limbs. If anything it will thrive and you will get a larger yield. :cool:

The main issue here is how tall your plant could get.
It could double in height after the flip. Could you deal with a 6' tall plant?

OK, well my plant is now at 3' 9". I've decided (finally) to clone this bastard. I'm so afraid this thing will die on me man. Anyways....I Googled "rooting gel" and the first brand that came up is called Clonex.

Is this a good brand of rooting gel? Please let me know ASAP as I need to place the order quickly! Thanks! :)

Yeah it's good. Been around for a long time, I still use it. Look at what I finally did using that shit. Rooted a fucking popsicle stick.
