so what is your production like on this unit? as in if you had say 20 lbs of trim/larf/nug how long would it take do you think to press it and collect it? I have not read your blog yet. if you answer this question there then tell me and I will go read. thanks for the work to produce this by the way

I have a similar rig and I don't think this would be the way to go for processing large amounts of anything. Too time consuming for that. This is a good set up for a home grower that just wants to run their personal rosin once a month.

I also don't think rosin tech is very good on popcorn/larf/sugar trim. I just started doing Qwiso and this works better on the low grade stuff than rosin tech but I don't know that it would be good for large quantity either.

Best way to process larf/popcorn/trim into rosin is first doing bubble hash then process your bubble into rosin, you get great yields that way. I could process 2 pounds of trim in my washing machine in under a 4 hours.

Good point, but you certainly would not need an arbor press for bubble hash pressing. edit - ok, maybe for really low temp pressing.

Yeah that's definitely the way to go for large quantities.

So I am about to build one of these but the heating elements you linked to arent available. Obviously the next move would be to search for a similar product. I did that and the only one with reviews had everyone saying the elements only worked once. Did you have any issues so far? Any advice on which ones to get now?

You can take apart a couple of $15 1" hair straighteners to use for the heating elements. You can't press on these ceramic plates but you can attach them to your bench blocks with epoxy or plumbers tape. They will take longer to heat up but will get there in 20-30 minutes. Good solution for a tight budget.

Dude cant thank you enough for posting this...I just finished mine but added a 20ton instead of the 1ton. Just trying to figure out the best way to mount the top plate to the press.
