I've had some success in the last 4 years growing outdoors. One years was amazing, one sucked, others were good. I live in Northeast so not exactly great conditions. Anyway I'm all set up and have started indoors. Started 2 females about a month ago to produce hopefully 6-8 clones to then put outdoors in Spring. This will give my plants a headstart, they should be pretty well into veg by time they go out. For topping to make clones I need help. Tried vids on YT and reading some books but I guess I'm a little slow, don't fully get it. When can I top? When I top do the cuttings have to go into peat or rock wool or can they go direct into soil? Seen that there should be 3 or 4 nodes, is that above the point where I cut? When I top should I do a square or angled cut? After I top two new growth shoots will automatically come out of top right? I'll need to cut some clones from branches too I think, what should the branches look like before cutting and how many nodes etc on branches. My plants are still pretty small, they are 10-11 inches tall in a month. I transplanted them last week and they exploded, both up and wide, they probably added 50%-65% in just a week it was crazy. I'm growing in soil, so far only using Canna Start. Plants are under CFL's about to go to MH 400 watt. I was planning to start veg nutes when I change light to MH.
