We get our kingfish near a powerstation the waters heaps warm..its world class fishing there but they are shutting down the station for gd soon.
I wonder if the yellowtail kingfish will disappear next season.@TWS this spot is an hours drive by car and then 20 mins by boat..not far at all
They will just go somewhere else where ever there is food. You better catch come.

They sure don't have a wicked sturgeon show. Lol
Those boys are finally coming around.
I'm kinda glad they don't have a show exploiting sturgeon fishing. Save them dinos for me. I used to mostly only C&R sturgeon. Such beautiful fish.
Last summer I was gonna go do the oversize sturgeon trip on the columbia, since I didn't have an outdoor crop going, but then my back fucked up. Looks like i'm going to be part of 24ish plant crop this year, fuck the authorities! Might still try to make the trip though. Practically gauranteed to catch big ones. Those sturgeon(some of which are tagged from our bays/delta system)aren't shy at all up there. Gotta use rod balancers here. Very illusive creatures here. The columbia, they throw out a big ass shad with a hook in it, and the sturgeon just sucks it up. I wanna go do that so fucking bad!
I tried blue marlin fishing outta Kona, for nada. Would love to catch one of them blue tunas fo sho.

striper run up here in norcal is jus getting startedas the waters warm back up. the cold water make em have low metabolism so they dont need to eat as often as the hogs they are.i got my tackle box full of new gear i wanna use to catch me the mama striper of the year.
Yup, usually about another month and that spring run will be on. I've caught my biggest ones during the fall though.
Have you thrown plugs at them on the american? I've never done it on that river, but i've heard of some monsters caught outta there

i throw everything at em. havent fished the american too much, only for steelhead really. eating wise, it would compare almost to snapper, nice n flaky meat, perfect for tacos!

Yeah, i've only flossed for salmon on the AR, and fished for shad at the mouth in my boat. But I've heard allot of stories about them spawners up there during the spring/fall runs though.
