I plan to build this. Everything is inexpensive except the plates are $2,500! Let's come up with a proper diy hydraulic rosin press for under $500.

I basically already built it...
Plates can be had for 400 or less depending on where you go...with controllers. And then I paid 132$ for the press with a warranty out the door.
Air over hydraulic will make it automatic...but still slow.

I had a good time at the cup with @lemmy714 , @Greengenes707 , @Socalrob and the 2 minutes I saw @Mohican.
I got to try Cuban growers hash at the exotic genetixs booth and terpene rosin and pure terps from Tony Vezura at Bubblemans booth. There's nothing like pure terps.
I picked up a couple clones and seed packs
Ogkb x og from leaf tech and 2 seed packs from Crockett Family Farms, Strawberry Fields and Hells Fire
And a sunset sherbert clone. I forget the booth. It was at the end of the night when I grabbed the sherbert and I was tired.
My buddy lemmy got a l.a. con clone from missradreefers/ booms pharms booth and he got seed packs of mendo breath from gage green and star dawg from top dawg seeds.
I passed out on the couch the second I got home. We dabbed a lot of rosin and smoked a lot of flowers

Great seeing you guys again and meeting Greengenes too. We had a great time there. I was hoping sincity would be there but if they were we couldn't find them. I forgot to get the wife her edibles on the way out, I was pretty stoned. The edibles I got at the last cup were pretty bunk. The same ones in Santa Ana are cheaper and better. Thanks for sharing you guys, it was a fun day. Nice pickup too.

I wanted to run the first SIP (sub irrigated planters ) for a few days at least before building anymore. Just to make sure the build didn't need any adjustments.
Sip's are a self watering container that waters the soil more efficiently like blumats. But no lines and no flooding. It wicks water from a reservoir up into the soil. It keeps the soil damp. Not saturated and no dry spots. I've already seen new growth on the gg4 in the last few days. It usually takes at least a 5-7 days before new growth starts after transplants.
So here's the play by play
I'm using 2 18 gal totes for the SIP
I drilled a shitload of holes and cut one large hole to just below the size of a 7 inch square net pot
If you go with smaller pot sizes. Do not use net pots. They will wick the water too much. Just use a yogurt or whip cream container and drill fewer holes in it
I fastened the net pot to the tote with zip ties
As you can see I had a crack on the right and repaired it with zip ties
Then drill a hole for the watering down tube. I'm using 1 inch pvc. I'd like to find some organic grown bamboo poles though.
Make sure to cut the tube at an angle at one end so the water can drain out
Here is the resi. There's another 7 inch net pot. Oh an these are heavy duty net pots. Any way it's there to help support the other tote that will sit on top. I made an overflow drain
Then I layed down a weed mat to cover the holes so soil doesn't fall down below and the roots still get air flow. I cut a hole for the net pot and watering down tube. I filled the wicking net pot with coco and packed it down

Then I cut holes in the lid and cut it in half so I can place it on top to cover the soil.
Bang bang. Quantum kush. I haven't watered yet. Just finished.
I'm using the same soil mix. Still running no till. This is a new mix that's been cooking for about a month.
Peat, coco, compost, worm castings
Crab shell meal, neem cake, kelp meal, fish bone meal, oyster shell flour, basalt rock dust.
