Going by his statement, he seems to be mirroring my position. Not anger, just not willing to wait and see if they start killing people/children.
Why did the armed robber threaten people with mortal injuries? Give it up, Paddy, the armed citizen simply acted in self defense. I approve of his actions. Many people approve of his actions. Every civilized society recognizes the fundamental human right to self defense. Armed robbers intend to murder people; that is part of the act. If the armed citizen had accidentally shot and killed a bystander, the armed robber would be charged with murder. Then why did they even try to rob them?
Because I wouldn't give up the product. Thought I was dealing with one guy when in fact it was twowhy did they shoot you?.....it's what they do
The CCW guy in his interview said the guy was running around the shop demanding money & things & he didn't know what the guy might do next. Sounds like he acted just in the nick of time to me, those guys were a ticking time bomb..Because I wouldn't give up the product. Thought I was dealing with one guy when in fact it was two
Would you feel the same way if the customer accidentally killed someone during that exchange? How would your opinion change, if at all? Would it matter if you knew the person accidentally killed personally?
I'll take #1 please...If somebody is robbing you or beating you, would you prefer an armed bystander help you or watch you get abused?
Illegal to own/utilize pepper spray? I assume they can't have firearms either? Now there's the liberal agenda at full implementation. Anybody wanna live in a utopia like that, where every rapist and murderer knows your women will be completely defenseless?Paddy, here is a story to make you feel better. This is the sort of outcome you are advocating:

"
A Danish teenager who said she was sexually assaulted now faces a fine for using pepper spray against her attacker. The man who pulled her to the ground and tried to undress her fled the scene without any charges."
I would say that he likely feared for his life the moment two assholes walked through the door waving guns and making demands. The guy drew his weapon because he had an opening when their gaurd was down. He was not in fear for his life until he pulled the trigger
*Ding* we have a winner!....I would say that he likely feared for his life the moment two assholes walked through the door waving guns and making demands.
Just sayin '. I know that I would be in fear of my life in that situation. Anyone who says otherwise is either delusional, a liar, or extremely uneducated in the topic.*Ding* we have a winner!....
You pass the Foxhole test......Just sayin '. I know that I would be in fear of my life in that situation. Anyone who says otherwise is either delusional, a liar, or extremely uneducated in the topic.
I ain't afraid to say that I would be fearful of my life. Scared is a whole different story. Fearful people can act logically. Scared people can be dangerous.
Objection. Speculation. They were there to Rob at the barbershop and get away.
Was the intent of the train guy too Rob?
He did have the wherewithal to draw and fire like at the range and no innocents were harmed?I'm a lifelong southerner and gun enthusiast and I think that man should be arraigned on felony criminal charges, as he is unfit to carry or own a weapon. People like that utterly terrify me -- they're so delusional that they live in a fantasy Wild West world where they truly believe that in the moment of heat they will have the wherewithal to see a threat, draw their weapon, and fire on that target in the same way that they might during their weekly visit to the range. The real world is not the same as punching paper and when these wannabe operators decide to play God and start shooting this is not how things typically end. They got incredibly lucky in this case, but their pride and delusions of grandeur almost got children killed, and that is patently unacceptable.
The armed robbers risked the lives of all the customers in that barber shop, not the customer who shot the thugs. The customer chose to risk his life and the lives of everybody in the room over the armed robbery that was taking place.
It was not something petty, it was people's lives.Every law enforcement organization in the country will tell you not to risk your life over something as petty as money.
Actually no, if the customer shot the perps, and they shot back, hitting and killing someone, all fault would have been on the robbers, in the eyes of the law.If he was the only person inside the barber shop when he did that, that's fine, but what if shotgun guy killed the customer, then decided to kill everybody else so there wouldn't be any witnesses to identify him? The only reason anyone could defend his actions is because shotgun guy and handgun guy clearly didn't come in looking to take lives, if even one person got shot or killed because of his actions they would be indefensible. Unbelievably lucky this situation didn't turn out differently.
Guns only have one point. To kill. Or that has been argued by some. If its only use is to kill I have to assume the guy with it means just that.It didn't seem that the gunmen meant to murder, they were there to rob. I mean, before the guy fired in self defense, it looked likely that everybody would be OK once the gunmen left. This is another case where maybe it would have been better it that guy had left his gun at home.
You are ex military though it was a long time ago. Would you draw with a person pointing a shotgun in your face? Sounds more like suicide to me.
Been asked similar questions in the past. My response varies according to who I am speaking with. My main thought is that I need to conceal better or lose the element of surprise. Another is asking "What do you think? ". Another is "Try to grab it and see.". Although, I rarely use the last one, unless she's cute lol.I get asked all the time, "Ohhh, is that a gun in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?", and I respond, "My penis is way too small to be observed through my pants, that is definitely a gun, and it's loaded waiting to be used... test me bitch."
