dude, really? Does it always have to devolve into the lowest level of discourse?I'll take the CCW. What do you prefer, a portable can of anal lube to throw at your assailant?
Pun somewhat intended.

Clearly nothing at all as it will statistically result in the better outcomeI'll take the CCW. What do you prefer, a portable can of anal lube to throw at your assailant?
Unfortunately for your argument, that's not how it works. You aren't required to check current stats on survivability when faced with a gun in your face. It's very simple, they draw, they get put down. I may not do it while they are focused on me, but the second they turn their attention elsewhere, I'm ending the threat. If even 1 out of 10 armed robberies resulted in murder you still wouldn't be justified in putting other people's lives at risk
The reality is that <4% of armed robberies result in murders
Picking up a weapon and ensuring a higher probability that you and/or others are killed in the process doesn't seem all that smart of a plan to me, considering less than 1 out of every 10 armed robberies result in murderUnfortunately for your argument, that's not how it works. It's not for everyone, I understand that. It's not necessarily a team endeavor. But, I'm not handing my fate over to an armed criminal because you're skeered of crossfire. Pick up a weapon and participate or sit their wishing for the best...which was your preferred action in the first place.
I'm sure the 1 in 10 completely agree with you. I know you don't get reality in your news sources, but the rest of us see countless, daily examples of armed citizens successfully defending themselves and their family, while ridding the world of individuals who are likely to kill down the road. I've read about four in just the last two days...five if you count this highly successful incident.Picking up a weapon and ensuring a higher probability that you and/or others are killed in the process doesn't seem all that smart of a plan to me, considering less than 1 out of every 10 armed robberies result in murder
But then again, I know you're not much of a numbers kind of guy
And for every countless example you see, I can post a dozen more showing the exact oppositeI'm sure the 1 in 10 completely agree with you. As stated, that's not how it works. You can sit there running numbers and googling stats, just understand the days of cowering and capitulation are over. Lead, follow or get out of the way.And for every countless example you see, I can post a dozen more showing the exact opposite
Like I said before, the numbers and statistics are on my side of the argument, emotion and excuses are all you have
I like to use the old army "Foxhole test" when assessing people....Would my foxhole be better off with or without you in a firefight.....Paddy I'm not too sure about you.And for every countless example you see, I can post a dozen more showing the exact opposite

And probably (and hopefully) never will, but that has nothing to do with being prepared and willing. Until that moment, all you can do is prepare.More than half of the ppl that said would shoot have never been in a gun fight.
I have been in a gun fight. But I didn't have a gun. And having one would not of prevented me from getting shotMore than half of the ppl that said would shoot have never been in a gun fight.
Is it really a gunfight if you weren't returning fire. If you were just a bystander then you weren't really IN the gunfight.I have been in a gun fight. But I didn't have a gun. And having one would not of prevented me from getting shot

I wasn't a bystander. I was a victim. Guy on passenger side was trying to rob me his associate came up on the drivers side and shot thru the window. Get this: he pulled the trigger twice. I put it in drive when I seen him but jap cars have this fucking safety feature where if the engine is revving it wont engage, The second time he pulled the trigger the window exploded and I got hit.Is it really a gunfight if you weren't returning fire. Is it possible you were just shot?
You were very lucky.....Maybe the people in the barber shop would have been lucky too, after the bad guy's started shooting....I wasn't a bystander. I was a victim. Now here is the best part. It was a .32 caliber bullet, it went thru the window, thru the triple stitching on my coat and stopped on a rib.
I still have the bullet, I want to make a necklace out of it
As to the guy in the barbershop. He wasn't firing because he was in fear for his life, He was firing because someone had the audacity to rob him
That's some heavy shit. The bullet definitely deserves to be memorialized, in acrylic or a necklace as you said.I wasn't a bystander. I was a victim. Why would the bad guys start shooting? You were very lucky.....Maybe the people in the barber shop would have been lucky too, after the bad guy's started shooting....
Why do they kill complying innocents with regularity? Morbid gratification, street cred, eliminate witnesses...cause they're bored? Why would the bad guys start shooting?

If he had no fear, he is a stone cold mofo, the kind you probably should identify before robbing him at gunpoint. I'd love to see an interview with him and get his perspective and emotions he went through.
