Cause man. Peeps want to go enjoy looking at the natural setting. View the land pristine and innocent and unencumbered by weapons. Or cow shit. Plus these federal lands give the land care keepers decent enough low paying jobs. Simple people with simple Lives that don't make much money. And maybe save up and set a good example for their children to get a good education. So their children can be honorable people. And not whine cause they want to "occupy" free lands for the American people. Just saying.

I'll ignore the first two paragraphs because, well, they are ignorant. Regarding your third paragraph, you have your opinion and I have mine. Neither are particularly important. The Supreme Court ruled in 1911 that the federal govt. owns that land. The ruling has survived multiple challenges since then. That's important. Don't like it? That's not important. Neither is Bundy's opinion.

Actually, my opinion is important. And it might shock you but this is a discussion forum where people discuss things. You may not have been paying attention lately but Marijuana is becoming legal... It is becoming so due to people's opinions and the laws are changing accordingly.

So yeah, maybe the federal government does have the right to own land but why? Maybe we should change that. I am not referring to Bundy nor this case as I have barely paid attention to it. I am addressing the overall issue.

Son. Most of your "state" programs are subsided by income taxes. Now. If you and all the residents of your state figure out a way to pay back all that federal money WE the people of other states taxed income. Then GROW BALLS AND BUY YOUR STATE BACK AND ALL THE LAND! Til then. Your state is a welfare state the relies on federal money to exist. Your state are a buncha whinny basterds wanting to shit on mine and all of the othe tax payers of Americas land!

So, the federal government confiscates our tax money and then gives it back to the states if they do what the federal government wants and that is my problem? How about the federal government stop taking all that tax money and let the states conduct their own business with it...

No. The government collects taxes to build roads for you to travel on. And to provide those with lessor means food stamps so they don't break into your crib and steal your stuff to pawn so they can get something to eat. Just sayin bro.

So the federal government owns up to half of some states in the southwest and they dont pay taxes on what they own so the average American citizen is totally getting screwed out of that tax revenue...

The local county taxes pay for roads, schools, police and fire protection, not federal funds. Try to keep on track here!!
