Death plant

I have a plant, it's not weed, just a plant i bought at the grocery store. It's a flower, but I don't know where else to find the answers. I cut off all of the leaves and just left 2 flowers with stems. I think my plant will die, am I right? It was 10 dollars, and i bought it yesterday. I want to know when will it wilt and die? Can it possibly survive? I am writing a book, this project is a part of it.

The book is called "Too much Red and not enough green." It's about a crazy guy from the soviet union, who mutilates plants.
I get that the red things are leaves too so, it can still make food. Will it grow new leaves? How long do these things typically live does anyone know?

that is a plant people sell for xmas it is red because the winter is coming and they are dying off.next gen they will be green and again when wilt they don't become yellow but red .small number of people made it after xmas.

You can keep it alive according to Wikipedia:

i wonder if he has a lil tent or growroom that he keeps it in. So yes, its a fact they can continue to live on past the greenhouse, but I bet the enviro has to really on point for it. THese grow in hawaii and last too

i think people just tend to not give a shit about poinsettias after the holidays one of my old bosses has one that was like 5 years old

So sad, lost his wife 3 days acter they got the plant and has it in her memory. Such a cold world it can be.

Just for the record, someone above had posted that poinsettia (euphorbia pulcherrima) doesn't flower. The euphorbia genus is most certainly under the the Angiosperm (Magnoliopsida) class meaning it is a flowering plant. Though in that persons defense, a lot of spurge species don't exactly have the most obvious flower.
