5500 watts safe in 3 bedroom house?

Would be running 4 1000 watt has 2 600 mh veg rest of watts would be for fans. House is roughly 1400 sqft 3 bedroom. Would it be safe living there as well? I was figuring powerbill would be around 300 or so anyone have experience with running this many watts and living there as well. Any pointers would be appreciated

Safe from what? The amount of energy you use is irrelevant to physical safety. Now law enforcement safety if you grow illegally... You might as well just advertise that you're growing.

That's pretty horrible advice if you ask me.

Maybe 1 1000W, but 4 with 2 more 600s? That's 5.2kw per hour. That's a fuckton for a 3 bedroom house. That's closing in on a small warehouse's usage.

You can do what you want, but that much will make you a blip on the radar for sure.

The REAL question is can the electrical box take the new lines?
Does the box have enough available amps to?
Do you have to drop new 20 amp wire? (safety issue for 1K's)

If you have 100amp service. I would bet you can't!!!!
Your temps will be very hard to control as far as cooling goes. So then your power bill does not take cooling into mind either, does it!

You could use 15 amp breakers and wire for the lights but, they must be dedicated (no other outlets hooked to that breaker) and it would have to run alone on that outlet!

The electrical set up is the real issue here!

At least you won't have to worry about heating in the winter much - LOL

Usually I'd say as long as you pay your bill you're fine. People have all kinds of shit that use lots of electricity. Big screen TV's, fridges I have two in my house one in my garage, hot tub's, saltwater fish tanks, coral, workshops, reptile rooms with the lighting and heating shit, you get the idea there's a million things that could use that much power. I can't imagine being raided in the U.S. because the electric company didn't want someone paying a large bill on time every month, notified the police who were then able to get a warrant based on how much electricity is being used and nothing else. If you have constant foot traffic, no taxable income, smell escaping, and a ton of electricity being used all together could attract attention. But laws change all the time with things like the patriot act that erode civil liberties that allow more and more loop holes for big brother. Understand the law and your surroundings. In the back woods of Mayberry it may be more noticeable than in a major city. You have to weigh risk vs reward. Your setup isn't for personal use, is the $$ worth the risk, Nobody wants to get locked up, but many of us still risk it daily.

Setup would be 2 separate 5 x 10 tents 2 1000 watt hps wits 8 inch fans scrubbing and exhausting ligets with 1 to 2 16 inch pedestal fans keeping canopy cool. Each tent would be on opposite interval so basically 2000 watts 24/7 I think I could get away without having access with the right fan placement as I've done it before. Main concern is power bill. If box wasn't big enough I could always have electrician install sub panel or up it to 200 amp service

I would have it looked into.
A fire is not fun.
V is right on with 2 x 24 and a flip box....be sure your ballasts are flip box ready.

Still find your cooling as "interesting". 2 1ks in a 5 x 10 will be warm......Cooling in the room - outside tents?

That's my hot tub heater, or 1/4 of my electric furnace, or my heat pump on second stage, oh and less than the total of my electric hwt. So depending on where you live and you service you should be fine. Just run the proper wiring and all is good. I burn wood in the winter when I grow so unless they are tracking my on off times which is easy to do here then all is good lol. Wiring is the key, make it safe!

I think the thing is with electric is if you already live there and your use doubles,yea,they might take a 2nd look. If you are a new customer at that address and start out using that much,they most likely won't think twice.

^^^^ maybe but I doubt it, at least here anyways. Ontario Hydro (Hydro One) is kind of fucked up right now lol. Their just worried that privatizing may effect their $100,000+ salaries and platinum pensions lol. FYI I'm not complaining about the line guys......they should get paid mucho denairo....shitty job at -30 :o.

It's a real pain in my ass but my setup is in a well insulated shed that by accounts looks like just that, a shed. If something happens it burns but not the house :). There are other legal reasons for the seperate building but it relieves a bit of stress knowing if the worst happens I've lost it only, and hopefully if it ever happens, it burns up everything re evidence lol. I realize this is not an option for many though but it's pretty rural here come fall.

Why not use 600w in your case?and use your watts during peak hours to go stealth.
