Do nutrients go bad??

Like the title says . I have a batch of technaflora 's bc nutrients and am curious if they would go bad?? I had them tightly sealed in a dark container and there a year or so old, The reason I ask is because I have four plants in a dwc for shits and giggles and using them, they looked really good but now are showing a deficiency , upper new growth is almost devoid of green, almost looking like a light bleach .

Ive used clearance AN sensi grow and bloom liquid two part three years after they stopped manufacturing it with no problems. If you see some precipitate forming in the solution they might be going bad. Unfortunately i would say your plant problem is caused by something other than old nutes.

They never go bad in the same way as food. Water might evaporate a little so you might want to add a small amount of water. Definitely shake it really good. Heating on the stove to 140-150°F is a good idea as well as it can help redissolve the compounds that might have precipitated out and sterilize it in case something did grow in it.

My nutes are a year old some a little older, left them in the garage for a few months sealed in a box. They are totally fine, smell normal and precipitation of minerals. Shelf life of nutes seem to be pretty extended, maybe not so much for organics , if stored properly.

I'd be worried about mold, fungi, and bad bacterial matter, with liquid nutrients, and less worried with solid Nuts. If these are used by such type of bacteria, you NPK numbers might be off a bit as it ages. It would also depend on you growing style (hydro or soil), and how sanitary they were stored. I'm sure "most cases would be fine, but it doesn't mean you're not gambling. Good luck..

Well in using the nutrients, I found out that the only one that seems to be affected was the thrive alive red and thrive alive green, All the others are fine and am using them up as we speak :)
