Over Watering Coco?

Hey guys can somebody help me?
Have a good few grows under my bealt but a friend who I have been helping out since I stopped growing myself is having trouble with a seedling he has in coco,
The seedling looks wilted and over watered to me but he claims this cannot be the case as he is growing in coco and apparently u cannot overwater coco??
I do not know if this is true as iv never grown in coco myself?
My other theory is that since the seedling is still small maybe he is over watering the rapid rooter in which he first planted the seed and this is causing the wilting? Another point to menchion is that this plant is an auto strain and Is a lot smaller than all other which had been planted and transplanted the same day,
Sorry for the quality of picture I will take another one later as it is also looking a lot more wilted today

Sorry I will go to my pals and get another picture as that one was from about 2 days ago when it was just starting to wilt, I should have just got up n got a newer pic in first place, Thankyou for your reply and do you know if it is possible to over water in coco?

P.s I will be back in 20 with better pic

Got then sent me rather than getting my stoner ass up haha
These are pics from today the number 3 is obviously the wilting plant and no1 is what the others all look like at this stage,
Another point is that he has just informed me that his temps are running between 16.2 and max of 21.5c which is obviously to cold but I have grew at these temps befor and not had a issue except slow Growth,
Thankyou please let me know what you think

They look ok. Slightly overwatered maybe. The root system is still tiny. He should only be watering every 2-3 days right now.

As for temps, I run mine between 60F-70F and 70%-80% humidity as seedlings until they hit the 3-5 node range (indica/sativa dependent). Doesn't slow growth at all if you keep the canopy warm. That's where most of the work is being done in this stage of life.

What about the wilted leaves on no 3 and the leaves have literally shriveled up n gone a lot smaller, iv only ever know it through over water.
Thank you for your help and quick q do you grow in coco?

I grow in a 30% coco mix. I grow organic, so I need a nutritious base medium. Fuck bottled nutes lol.

If he's drowning the plant, it will definitely shrivel up. However, if he's watering the others the same with no wilting, could just be a bad pop. Happens sometimes.

Yeah I'm starting to go towards organics myself smoke is much better n a lot less messing about,
Last couple years been using advanced nutrients with good results but the taist isn't there especially with dwc,
And ok well Imo best thing he can do is keep tryin and see what happens?
Like u said it could just be a dud seed but at £10 a pop hopefully not haha

Just tell him to back off on the watering. Go by the pot weight, not looks of dryness.

I've had seeds that were just as expensive that were duds. Sometimes the husk pulls off weird, sometimes it just a genetic mutation (had some cool ones), and sometimes it's the grower.

The others look relatively healthy, so I would just back off on the water.

You don't have to worry about the rep. I dunno how anyway. I just "like" posts.

And yhh love a good mutation have had a 3 leaf plant befor (every node having 3 sets of leaves) lovely looking plant just a small yeilder

ok, i just went through this issue with coco, and being new to it, and not understanding what other growers meant by you CANT over water coco.
You can definitly overwater a seedling in coco. it needs to establish a solid root system before you go crazy with the watering.
i was feeding my seedling twice a day to runoff, and in about 3 days of total saturation, it started looking sad. lost a few leafs that didnt recover, but just backing off the waterings, and it perked back up.
once you have a solid established root system, the plant will drink like no other. you will know when its ready because it will be drinking up all that you throw at it soon.

I've had a mutation that was almost like a polyploid. 4 grow tips at one node. There's pics of it in the first threads I started if you want to check it out. Just go through my history. Keep in mind, I was a total rookie then lol.

And Green Thumb thank you for your reply and yeh that's what it looked like to me just he recons that u cannot overwater in coco we'll his mix is coco perlite 70/30 but I guess he is wrong as I suspected
And well I hope it's ok for him I guess the majour prob with it being a auto is it won't realy have time to recover and will turn out small most probably

if he didnt over water it for to long, he should be fine, just tell him to back off, let them roots come in, then up it in a few weeks. should be golden. less is more as well on the ppm or ec

There in 3 gallon airpots that I gave him, from my own experience autos don't like being transplanted so I adviced him to plant them directly into finishing pot, IMO it would have been better not to use rapid rooters but hey it's his grow after all
Another reason I advised him to go straight for 3gals is cuz this is his first proper grow (except windowsill experiments) so it'll be a lot easier on him and on the plant
Thanks for the help guys I hope for him it recovers soon as autos don't veg for very long atall

I have to disagree with you. I run autos all the time and transplant them from an 18 oz. solo cup to an 80 oz. container and lastly to a 2 gallon bucket with no problems. If done properly, transplanting is not stressful at all. A plant needs fresh oxygen at its roots and when you water/feed it pushes out the stale oxygen and pulls in fresh oxygen. In coco the plants need fresh nutes and oxygen daily. Achieving that in a 3 gallon container with a seedling is difficult and a waste of nutes.

I agree transplanting is fine if done properly but that is a big if and a Newby would likely mess it up wich will cause stress which an autoflower does not have time to recover from
