hello ain't bin on here for a while I'm having trouble deciding when to harvest on my calendar I have only bin in flower for 10 weeks? But my buds don't seem as full and as large as they should be .... Also some are starting to turn orangey while others are still white they have all been growing from the same date the only difference is some have been in different positions under my lights and 5 out of 10 have cages around them ?? Any ideas ??? I will get more closer photos tomorrow and of different plants they are steel city blues if any one has any experience with them thanks image.jpeg image.pngimage.png

with out a scope - harvest when 80% of the pistal's have turned brown/amber. You are within the "harvest window" which is 14 days Give it 1 more week

Might be tough to tell if it's your first grow but you will see a marked difference in the last 1-2 weeks of the flowering cycle as the calyxes begin to stack on each other and the flowers get visibly more chunky. Once you've had a solid harvest and taken a plant all the way to fruition, you'll hardly need a scope at all. Even without a scope, you can get close enough for government work with a close eye under good lighting. You might not be able to see closely enough to pick out percentages of amber vs. clear vs. cloudy, but for most strains, there is a visible difference between a mostly cloudy and amber bud and an early bud that is still clear.

Or you can order one of these on Amazon and get it in a few weeks from China for less than $5:

And this one is great for a closer look:

In fact, I've lost all of mine in my last move so I just ordered a couple more.

By the way, Steel City Blues, not heard of that one -- is that part of the "Blues" family that is passed around the UK? Your plants look very interesting, good job man.

Ah, so it's the Sheffield Blues? I've heard of that one, all of those Blues always intrigued me. I've been a huge fan of the Exodus and Brightside cuts of cheese over the last several years but I'm across the pond so I don't have as easy access to them as I would like.

One thing you may be able to do if your camera is good enough quality is tale a good magnified close up and look at them on yuor pc.

As I said yesterday I went and bought a 30x magnifier and had a look at all the plants up and down and the trichomes are still clear so I'm hoping there due to change very soon also the buds are developing and they're starting to stretch again ..... I've took some good photos so I hope you can enjoy them as much as i will when they're readybongsmilie
