Dr. Bob Suspended ???

Would you get your certification from a doctor who has had a suspended license?

  • Yes. As long as their license is valid now, I don't care.

  • No. I don't want to take a chance my certification will be thrown out and registration revoked.

i am not that guy to relax. lol. i need order and structure, no loose ends and this is a huge loose end. not knowing is my achiklles heel.
i just left a message with his office and i am sure the state will tell me something when they get the paperwork
The doctor had HIS license suspended. You'd be an innocent victim of his malpractice, unless you somehow knew of or were involved in his malfeasance. That's a very strong legal argument that should shield you from aggressive persecution.

he is suspended, i got the call an hour ago

he signed mine before he was suspended, so i should be fine...so they say.

either money back or a new doctor from their system or wait and see

I'm sure if his desertification affects his patients they will notified !
Was Dr. Bob up to no good?
I don't know. That's what I'm trying to figure out.

Do you think if you got arrested or something the courts will say his certification is still good or will it be thrown out because the state suspended him? I wonder what he did to get this? He has a lot of patients. He should go on here an tell whats going on. People will probably get nervous now.

Ah the haters come out.

This was out of the blue, we are handling it appropriately.

The offices are still open with other physicians, all certs prior to last Friday are just fine and we still haven't received any formal notification about any of this. We will of course stand by the certifications and will have them re-done if necessary. This matter will hopefully be cleared completely in 2-4 weeks.

To make one thing clear, one of the points had to do with not releasing records. We gathered them together, but they were not properly requested and we take the privacy of our patients very seriously. We are confident our actions have been correct and follow the standard of care.

Always think the truth is the right way to go. Obviously this is open, so I can't comment much, but feel confident. Fortunately the practice has grown to the point we have other physicians and they are stepping up to serve the patients. Hopefully it will be a very momentary thing and not inconvenience folks much.

Thanks for answering me. Getting a suspended license seems like a big deal but your answer seems like not so bad. Ok. Thanks again.

My eyebrows went up when the doc in question commented on this very thread, only because that's a first for me!

@Dr. Bob's comments do not sound like those of someone trying to cover up any wrongdoing, rather they smack of compassion for the patient first, a desire to forthrightly resolve the problem second and finally a desire to create transparency for all those concerned.

Took some balls, too. Props.

Considering my position in the MMJ community and activism, combined with such things as exposing the AG's 'Clearing the Air' seminars in 2010 I suspect I have some people that are not my friends in the AG's office. Beyond that I would rather not speculate. It will come out eventually.

Right now I am concentrating on taking care of my patients. We have all the offices covered except for Cadillac and the UP and we are having those folks go to MP/TC and Gaylord respectively. Right now the patients and practice are my main concern, not speculating on their motives. We will deal with that later.
