Dwc tub

Got a 4x2 gorilla tent and I'm trying to make the most out of the room in there. I got a bucket from home Depot and I was originally going to do dwc with 4 large air stones, but it doesn't seem like I'm getting enough bubbles which I suspect is because of a cheap pump. I could buy a better air pump but now I'm debating just getting a sump pump and putting a line in a ring around the top to do aero or just get a new air pump. Or just put plants in it and see what happens.
Also this is for 6 small plants through flower.

That should be fine for 1 or 2 plants. What kind of airstones? Did you give them a 24 hour soak?Airstones need to be soaked 24 hours or you will get big bubbles. The smaller the bubbles the better.

They're still soaking, I'm pretty sure they're 4in cylinders. I was trying to do six plants, I'm not concerned on room, just bubble spread. Probably more like 3 to 5 plants for awhile until I get my cycle fine tuned. Also may consider boosting it up to 8 air stones

I use the cheapest pumps and only 1 stone per bucket. Water can only hold so much dissolved oxygen
Can you give a minimum watt/gal ratio. New to hydro and was wondering. I have the Wal-Mart dual 3.5w and single 1.5w. Don't know flo rating.

Expierenced grower, New to hydro tho. Been watching your rail thread. Glad you came back.

Can you give a minimum watt/gal ratio.
Too many variables to estimate an outcome from watt/gallon.
You can use the same pumps but have different results than what someone on here is telling you.

A shorter airline will boost performance over a long airline running across the room.
A wood airstone, ceramic airstone, etc can be used to vary bubble size and flow rate.
The contact time between bubbles and water is also important - shallow vs deep water, agitators, etc.

I just bought an 18 w pump with 6 different tubes and that has powerful bubbles. The small ones never seem to do it.

Thank you all so much. I decided to run only 3 plants, they seem to be doing well. I'm also running a more powerful pump that I found in my heap of hydro stuff. At least I have a backup pump now.
And I'll make sure I look out WestDenverPioneer. :)
